1 relegation place?

I think most people with no agenda would think two feeders covering the same area is ridiculous.  Most people would think merging the two east feeders into one would be normal.

Bizarre to suggest that most people would think two east feeders makes sense.

...or they see it as most normal well-adjusted people with no self-interest agenda would see it. Who really cares if there are two east feeders and whether the boundary is at the Tay or at Montrose? Let's get the ball rolling. That can be fine-tuned later as was the case in England with the Isthmian and Southern Leagues. As things stand there could easily be deadlock for many years because of the various selfish idiots with blazers that are involved guarding their little fiefdoms and the SFA board lacks the powers needed to break the logjam.

Or the SFA could state that there will only be one East feeder, the EOS. No more discussion.

The EoS cares, the clubs care, and in order to avoid a clusterfuck in future years we need to get it right from the start, that is the EoS's position.  It's not selfish, and they are far from being idiots.

The problem lies squarely with the SJFA and their refusal to deal with each Region seperately as each Region has different challenges and requires different solutions.  You know that, so why do you keep pushing this line that somehow the LL and EoS are the problem?  We know where the problem is, everyone does.

If only that was true. As we know they split things into Highland and Lowland PWGs. The Highland League version of events was that the NRJFA said they weren't interested in the pyramid back in Oct or Nov and that was that. Then the SJFA carried on with the Lowland League PWG in Nov/Jan/March? onwards saying it was all in or nothing.

If the SJFA/PWG carry on with the "all-in" (ie West and East) or nothing, they are always going to end up with nothing, hence why the West clubs who want to enter the Pyramid need to start making a little more noise.  Anyway, getting off topic of the thread.

My point was that somebody impartial is needed to set the rules and policy on the pyramid in a rational way along the lines of what happens in England or Germany or we'll continue to see absurd decisions like the LL clubs refusing to add a second automatic relegation place even though the bottom half of the LL would clearly struggle to avoid relegation in the EoS. The problem isn't just Tom Johnston.

So the EoS fully supporting West entry for this season was self interest? You're losing the plot now.

There's a pyramid thread over in the EoS forum so best to continue there.

The Lowland League should add another relegation spot but it's incredibly harsh to criticise them for only having one relegation spot currently.

Until the old juniors moved to the EoS, there were very few clubs licenced in the EoS and none of them were likely to ever challenge for promotion (Burntisland, Hawick etc).  It wasn't until earlier this year that suddenly you had a group of licensed teams who would be able to enhance the Lowland League and, even now, only 8/16 are licensed.

Yes, the number of relegation spots should be increased but until very very recently there were very few, if any, teams able to make the step up.
