Thereisalight..
I enjoy the Friday night games. Obviously it’s a pain for travelling supporters especially ones from the likes of Inverness coming down to Ayr for a 7.05pm kick off but I like them. We only have one home one scheduled. Oct and against Dundee iirc
HoBNob
There's almost some logic in sending QoTS on the Friday upto upto Inverness or County, at least for the home sides. I'd imagine that outwith the part time sides that would be the lowest away attendance that the Highland sides would receive and as such there's less of a drop off so to speak? It's not great for the QoTS fans but it hits Inverness and County in the coffers less.

Probably true but at the marginal levels you are talking about it's fairly trivial compared to the loss of potential hospitality and home support, particularly for the likes of County and ourselves who draw it from a wide region, not just a town. Its also fair to say that as very few of our fans will make the trip anyway, the furthest away trips being broadcast are advantageous to those supporters who don't actually go. However I don't think either is a remote consideration in selection of games. Subject to the condition that each club is only involved in two home games being moved, they pick based on what fixture they want, not inconvenience or otherwise to the clubs or their supporters. To be fair, our game at Dingwall was picked in April because County were going to clinch the title and pick up the trophy that night (which they did) and not for any other reason. It was just unlucky we were the club due there on that weekend.

Poet of the Macabre
Why the hate for the English Championship though? Would far rather watch Leeds vs Derby than Morton playing anyone tbh. -
vikingTON
Yes but you're a fat loser so that's not really surprising tbh. English football is a total joke from the top tier of NFL-style, pointless franchise outfits, through middle ranks where clubs can't fulfil their fixtures due to constant insolvency, down to dross leagues like the Conference where mediocrities coming down from the Scottish leagues are handed £2k a week and look like Messi by comparison to the cloggers around them. Scottish football is by no means perfect but it's high time that it took over from a dung football setup that has only been propped up in terms of interest up here by the breathless, self-interested promotion of Sky.

I always thought that was part of the rationale - there won't be many punters travelling and so there are less to lose. Against that the away fans get a chance to watch the game on telly. There are some trips (Ayr, QoTS, North of the Wall) which I'm only ever going to make in a blue moon due to other commitments. If the game's on the telly then all the better.

Fuctifano
For the 20 BBC games this season the report suggests each team will be at home at least twice, which makes no sense as there's 10 clubs so it would have to be exactly twice and they probably want to leave themselves some scope for picking a late season decider if BT can't be arsed. Of the 9 games announced so far, only Dundee Utd haven't had a home game scheduled. Still find it a bit odd Arbroath's TV home game is vs us rather than one of the Dundee teams. edit: Morton vs Thistle is a good choice for a Friday game from a fans point of view. KabbaCharming
Two Friday nights in a row for the Ton which suits me as I play football on Saturdays. If we lose both though then its the worst thing to ever happen and its killing football
