Florentine_Pogen
I do love my dog (see avatar) but I doubt his demise would diminish my ability to whippet up a cheese and pickle sandwich. FTFY

nsr
If an animal I really don't like dies, can I have a day off to celebrate?

The Minertaur
Not related to pets but my wife recently moved job. If I die then she is entitled to a week off. if a family member such as parent, Grandparent dies then she is entitled to 1 day off. So no people shouldn't get a day off for a pet dying.

Zetterlund
We just had to have our cat of 13 years put to sleep a few weeks back and it was quite an upsetting experience. I ended up taking her to the 24 hr vet at 6am, paying an extra £150 for the privilege, because I didn't think the work would sympathise if I said I wouldn't be in in the morning because of the cat. The worst thing was seeing the Mrs really upset tbh. We both had to go straight into work after but I couldn't concentrate much for the day. I'd never want or expect to get the day off though, just one of those things you have to deal with.

Got to assume there's more to this story as surely only a total p***k would fire an 18 year old lassie for missing one shift when she's told you she's been physically sick. My bet is she's a feckless, work shy bint who struggles to butter the pieces because she's got her phone in her hand and has missed the last 12 Mondays on the trot.
