Airdrieonians vs. Clyde

£1 is a most reasonable uplift. All that does is highlight last season was too expensive for the quality on show more often than not.

There's a point in this, absolutely. However, again, market forces. We were probably the most expensive in L2, yet provided the second best facilities, the like of which were rarely reciprocated, if that were reason to justiify what may have been seen as a bit high-end. Public park facilities in Edinburgh and some non-negiotable eye-level watching elsewhere, not our admission fees, seems to me the highlight of profiteering. The succesful team of ours certainly helped quell the peanut gallery, but things move quickly in this game.

Guaranteed shelter, decent viewing and functionable amenities at opponents grounds is now far more likely, so should the bullet be bitten and a consideration given to that levelling-up being used as a guide? Only Stranraer and Peterhead, off my head, guarantee none of those three upon entry. Two of them optional at Montrose and Forfar. I genuinely feel we've missed a trick and pissed a lot of fans off with all the sideline begging, rather than lay a fraction of the cost at the door.

What was our pricing on the way down, incidentally? I don't recall the £20 barrier being broken, away from home pre-2008 (St. Johnstone £18 i believe was among the steepest), save for the home Celtic Cup ties.

Well I can think of better ways to spend £17 TBF...
its just us football fans being fickle as ever [emoji23] always like to moan about something If we win saturday wont give a toss about the admission fee
if we lose its cost too much , view of pitch was crap , parking awful , catering appaling [emoji6]

It's £2 difference in admission price between Clyde and Airdrie so the difference is negligible (not saying that's a fair or an affordable price for this standard of football but if you're willing able to pay the £15 then £17 shouldn't stretch you too much).
Of course that extra £2 is for the ambience of New Broomfield and high class of football on the park...
Is there still a charge for the car park?

well the other week the club , were on about being at a financial disadvantage and could we all please buy a match sponsor , doesnt really add up if you are one of the cheapest to get in and of course the amount of the dreaded C word
On the flip side I agree 15 is fine for admission ,as for away games well the customer is king dont like the admission price dont go I will be there on saturday grudgingly paying 17 , I wont be at falkirk away later in the season not because I cant afford it simple fact they are ripping the P**s out of it charging 20 plus

20+? Oooft.

It’ll be nice not to be the focus of L1 ticket price moans, if only for a season.

Why we in our sky blue kit tomorrow? Are we wearing it in hope we play like Man City?
Our 3 kits are
Home
White top, black shorts, red socks
Away
Full red
3rd
Full black

Assuming airdrie are still red and white for their home kit so probably why they are playing in the blue kit.

Our home is white top, white shorts and black socks. You could’ve worse black top, black shorts and red socks. Not that it’s a big deal or anything, just curious haha!

Yip £2

So it’s £17 for an adult and £2 to park the car somewhere it’s marginally less likely to get torched.

I was planning on bringing my lad (6 year old), how much is that going to add on? Is there parent and child entry or under 12s free?

Their website says its £20 for a parent and child.  I assume that's for home and away fans.

If not I will be £50 with parking for me, wife and kids(11 and 7 years old). We will be a minimum £42 before we factor in getting food etc. Whilst we can afford it and will go, it’s easy to see why some would be put off the price, and priced out depending on circumstances, for league one football in Scotland.

All things being equal, what WOULD be a good, set price list for 'this level', which would keep everyone happy? And what should define it....clubs financial situations or marking up in accordance with higher/lower division?

All i've heard from Clyde fans this season is bitching and picking-and-choosing, which kind of makes getting promoted feel like an enormous waste of everyone's time and energy in achieving it. Are the prices at everyone's holiday romance clubs ever this much of a problem? Because they seem to feel entitled to the world for what they pay to watch the team they claim to love.

£15/£16 is fine for this league any more and you are starting to take the piss. Don't think we are the first set of fans to bring up Airdrie's admission price £17 + £2 for parking and £7 for under 16s is too high. Can't remember anyone really mentioning Raith's prices last week.

For clarification, i'm not slating their prices, car park fee excepted. I'm asking if Clyde are selling short based on numerous factors. The standard of the section given last week was mentioned in a critique on the match thread, indicating that the cost itself wasnt a problem. Whether full or part time doesnt come into it, as without the other nine clubs none of us have any games.

For 3rd/4th tier football in Germany its roughly between €5 and €10 depending on what team you go to see.

On that basis we are being robbed paying between £12 and £20 for 3rd and 4th tier football here, which is of a poorer standard than that of the German 3rd and 4th tiers.

Apples and oranges. Do you have the full commercial breakdown that allows this generous benefit to be handed to loyal supporters of these clubs, many of whom number five figure gates? And furthermore, how do Scottish clubs co-opt this strategy without losing vital revenue, given that reduced prices have NEVER increased crowd figures consistently, for any club, and also that we still carry the highest per population attendances in Europe. The price isn't putting SO many off, it clearly marks an attatched value of the goods purchased, and Airdrie in my view have it more right than Clyde do for what we both provide. My concern here is our club.
