senorsoupe
Didn't see a thread for this but the Qualifying round of the Women's Champions League is going on. 10 groups of 4 with the group winners progressing to the round of 32. Hibs ladies are in pole position to win their group having won their first two games, a draw today against Slovenian side Pomurje would be enough to see them join Glasgow City in the knockout round
senorsoupe
Hibs 2-1 at half time through Jamie Napier and Lauren Davidson. Surely they won't Hibs this?
senorsoupe
Hibs did not Hibs it, the score remained 2-1 so they will indeed join Glasgow City in the knockout round. Glasgow City will be seeded for the draw but Hibs ladies won't

If Glasgow go through and 4 of the 11 clubs ranked higher than themgo out in the round of 32, Glasgow would be seeded for the round of 16 too. Not very likely but you never know.

Some good results could see Scotland break in to the top 10 in the womens ranking meaning both the winner and runner up would get a bye into the knockout stage. That being said there is a significant gap in points between 11th ranked Scotland and 10th ranked Russia
GordonS
Hibs v Slavia Prague (Home leg 11/12 September, date tbc) Slavia made the QF last year, easily coming through their qualifying group and beating Gintra of Romania and Rosengård of Sweden before losing 6-2 on aggregate to Bayern Munich. They got a 1-1 draw in the 1st leg at home. Very tough one for Hibs. Chertanovo Moscow v Glasgow City (2nd leg on Thursday 26th September) Chertanovo were 2nd in the Russian league last season, not going well so far this season. Glasgow have to back themselves and get that one done. Tie of the round is surely Juventus v Barcelona, with Arsenal v Fiorentina not far behind. -

GordonS
Hibs chucking this away some third goal from slavia though. That's pretty harsh. One mistake for the first goal and the break of the ball for the second. They're seriously outgunned here and the only surprise is that they were ever in it.That third goal is the best I've seen in the flesh in a while.Napier is as good as anyone on the pitch, only a matter of time before she goes full time somewhere.
GordonS
Ah well. Scoreline more like expected now. Hibs are plugging away but lack the quality to be trouble up front, and all over the pitch they're a yard too slow, 4 inches too short and 10 pounds too light.

forrie_1
Slavia took a while to get started when they did they played some cracking passing moves, Hibs should of made more of the chances they created in first 20. Third goal was a decent strike but Hibs midfielder sold herself. Personally didn't feel the tall slavia striker deserved some of the abuse she got in the second half including the boo's when subbed ?
