When's the draw guys?

A week today - no idea why they have to wait so long, there's five games still to play this weekend but surely better to get it done asap rather than just 17 days before the next round...

Another semi-literate tweet from the SJFA, I see, as it's the DRAW for the 4th Round they're announcing, not R4 itself!

Morning inspection for the Kello-Shettleston replay.

hopefully its game on and not one of these fixtures that keeps getting postponed.

Worst display of the season last weekend from us and looking for a reaction, influential players back from suspension and injury will hopefully see us through.....

Glad to see its not the same referee as last weekend, hate having a go at refs but his display was poor....

Morning inspection for the Kello-Shettleston replay.

Kello have updated their page saying that, no official's are willing to travel down to do the inspection, meaning that they are left with a situation as too, they put it off without official say so, or play it, but if match ref puts it off before kick off they then get left with no comeback and are liable for everyone's expenses, now surely if they have followed the correct steps and asked for the inspection then the should be afforded the request regardless of the distance the refs have to travel, if not then there going to go on the side of caution and put a 50/50 decision off rather the run the risk of being left with a massive expense bill

Lochee Utd 3 Hermes 1

Lochee United came from a goal behind to win this match and progress into the next round of the Macron Scottish Junior Cup.

Hermes knocked the Bluebells out of the Signature Signs Cup in Aberdeen in January by 12-11 on penalties after a 2-2 draw, but the home side gained their revenge in comfortable fashion, particularly after the visitors were reduced to 10 men.

Hermes had the first sniff of goal in the 12th minute but Jordan Reid ballooned the ball over the Lochee bar.

The unfortunate Reid only lasted another 10 minutes before hirpling off to be replaced by Elliott Macdonald.

The opening 20 minutes were fairly even but Hermes shocked the home side by taking the lead on 22 minutes, Craig Macklin’s free kick being headed past Jordan Millar by Connor HUNTER.

The visitors went down to 10 on the half-hour mark when David Stevenson was booked for simulation, his second yellow of the afternoon,  so off he went.

Lochee began to take control of the game and scored a spectacular equaliser eight minutes from half time. Ross McDonald made tracks down the left and the full back played in a beautiful ball to Alan TULLETH who sent a first time shot high into the net past Lee Sweeney in the Hermes goal.

If the first half was fairly close, the second half was one-way traffic towards the Hermes goal. In the opening 10 minutes Danny Cavanagh had a shot blocked and Tulleth was unlucky to see Sweeney pull off a great save to deny him.

From a Cavanagh corner Greg Kirk headed wide and a good move involving McDonald and Cavanagh saw Grant Lawson’s shot saved by the keeper.

A goal had to come and it did so on the hour mark. Lawson did well to win the ball in midfield and passed to Dougie Cameron. He sent Tulleth through and his cutback was perfect for CAVANAGH to blast the ball home from close range.

It was all Lochee against a tiring Hermes side who were offering very little in attack and sub Kevin Milne just failed to get his head to a McDonald cross.

Reece Ritchie came on for Cameron and almost scored with his first touch, keeper Sweeney getting down to his right to palm Ritchie’s shot past the post.

With 15 minutes to go and Lochee pressing for the third goal to settle the tie, Danny Millar came up for a Logan Davie corner and crashed a header off the crossbar.

A minute later the tie was over as Davie scampered up the right wing and crossed for the inrushing RITCHIE to fire the ball home.

A deserved win for Lochee against difficult opponents who were definitely handicapped by going down to 10 men and it was good to put last week’s disappointment at going out of the senior Scottish Cup behind them.

Lochee Utd: J Millar, McNally, D Millar, Kirk, McDonald, Davie, Gallacher, Cameron (Ritchie 68), Cavanagh (Deasley 77), Tulleth (Milne 62), Lawson.

Hermes: Sweeney, Nash, Mitchell, McKenzie, Burr, Begg, Hunter, Innes, Macklin, Reid (Macdonald 22), Stevenson.

Fair match report, until the red card it was really close. The sending off was really silly, first a needless push in the middle of the pitch and then simulation. It clearly cost them, had they played with 11 for 90 minutes it could have been a close game.

Happy with the win though and I'm looking forward to the draw now. :)

Hurlford 3-1 Shotts Bon Accord.

Hurlford flew the boxes, & took an early lead when their best player Chris Robertson powerfully headed home from 6yds,a delightful corner from the left taken by the very impressive Marc McKenzie.

The Hurlford lads doubled their advantage after 15mns,when a fine flowing move started by captain Paul McKenzie continued by Marc McKenzie, & finished by Lewis Morrison when he blasted home from the 18yds.

Shotts response was rapid, one of their lads won a midfield tussle & hit an inviting ball over the home defence, their no9 Jordan Love timed his run to perfection & hit a lovely pitch & run over the advancing Martin McDonald in the Hurlford goal.

Soon after he came close to equalising when he appeared in acres of space in to Hurlford defence, & his effort only just missed the target.

Half time Hurlford 2-1 Shotts Bon Accord.

The space given to Jordan did not impress Hurlford gaffer Darren Henderson & I enjoyed listening to his half time team talk, whilst I was in line at the very impressive pie hut.

Hurlford left winger Jack Whittaker finished the scoring when he took possession from a throw in, ran across the pitch & from 20yds curled a belter past Shotts goalie Johnny Murdoch.

Hurlford into round 4, Shotts made them work very hard for the passage.

Nearest registered ref is 30 minutes drive away, he refused the request as did many others.

I wouldn't worry, now you just say 'it's a glorified west cup' and all is excused from your exit. 🙈

I’d like to get that excuse in early.

One of the teams I really wanted to avoid

A maximum of seven West Premiership teams will be through to the last 16, perhaps less than that.

It's Auchinleck's cup to lose as usual, but if Rossvale can keep up their recent form then it could be anybody's cup to win.
