He was also slagging the BT Sport ref for saying it was a penalty, which it was.

Stewart was slagging the rule, which is absolutely fair. There’s no advantage there and the hand is in the only position it can really be. If the rules say that’s a penalty the rules are ridiculous.

It wasn't a penalty. The rules are very clear on it 

"It is not usually an offence if the ball touches the players hand / arm directly from the players own head or body (including the foot).

To me it looked like the ball came off his own leg and struck him on the arm. Therefore it's not a penalty

I'm sure there's more to the rule than that, but regardless the first part of the Motherwell player's body it touched was his arm so its irrelevant. Handball under the unnatural silhouette bit of the rule or whatever the wording is.
