The Evening Telegraph has lit the blue touch paper for Friday night;

"United will travel to Glasgow on Friday and, as usual, use their state-of-the-art team bus – a luxury opponents Partick Thistle will no longer enjoy when they are on the road."

Explosive stuff!

Inaccurate, of course.

That performance at alloa doesn't give me much hope for this, they had a comical amount of the ball in space for large periods in the first half. We'll have to score a few to win this and short of Cardle putting on a one man super show it's hard to see that happening either.

Just watched Shankland's 4 goals v ICT.

Quality: how did he end up at DUFC and not in the Premiership or down south?

Part of the reasoning is said to be his close friendship with Liam and Cammy Smith. But it might be he also wants to take a steady path and play every week, rather than go down south and flounder in a reserve side.

Prior to Ayr, he never showed consistent form on loan moves at Morton and St Mirren. If he maintains his standards at Tannadice, he'll potentially play in the top league in Scotland or get a lucrative move south in a year or two.

Will the park hold up to the expected torrential rain on Friday?

If the weather forecast for Friday in Glasgow is accurate the game being on could be 50/50. Thunder/lightning, very, very frightening and an absolute deluge forecasted all day and night and Saturday as well. Be happy to see the game get cancelled if I am being honest!
