He and Burke starting up from for Sheffield United just now.

Heady times!

Presumably they don't want to score any more goals this season.

Huge night tonight for the Scruffalo as soon-to-be relegated Sheffield United takes on the equally terrible West Brom Albion.   Fleck and Burke also start for Sheffield Utd for a wee bit of Scottish interest.   As the forum come's to terms with  @G51 chat about goals/assists not being remotely important to stickers it will be interesting to see if he can break his duck against such cannon-fodder.

Who takes his spot in that case? Leigh Griffiths? Excuse me if I don't share in the social media delight here

Yeah, that would be absolutely shite for him.

I don’t see any obvious benefit given Adams and Dykes are clearly our best options.

Shankland/Nisbet/Griffiths just strike me as Finals squad players that end up with no game time.

It's a shame for McBurnie, but I think this is good news for Scotland because I think Clarke would have picked him in the squad, and I think whoever comes in to replace him is more likely to actually do something for us. Even on the evidence of the November triple header, a cameo from Griffiths would be much more valuable than a cameo from McBurnie. I doubt Griffiths will be in the squad if he doesn't get a bit more game time for Celtic in the last few games though.
