Didn't know that. Bloody hell, it's beginning to look like he is above the law.

On the one hand maybe it's not true, on the other he's a lying c**t, the UK press are on the whole, baw deep in the Tories (or the tories are baw deep in them) and the journalist stands by his story and his sources.

And there we have it again: "but allies intervened, fearing it would be a flagrant abuse of ethics

The charlatan is so totally warped by privilege he think's he really is above the law.

When you have removed the concept of ethics from your personal and professional lives, the idea of not needing an ethics advisor seems perfectly logical!

Forget everything else, the fact that Johnson tried to get his now wife a £100k a year job paid for by us and that she was not qualified for whilst they were having an affair should in itself be enough to finish him.

Tory voters are scum; those who choose to ignore this are double scum.

It doesnt surprise me that Boris tried to get his wife a job everything about him is corrupt. Husband and wifes or any family members really should never be allowed to both have leadership/top level roles at same time in any party let alone government . It just isnt a good look.

The absolute desperation of that post is sad.

Good. I hope the fat f**k stays and continues to derail these Tory arseholes on a daily basis. He's a bigger vote-winner for Labour than Starmer.

Agreed, but I foresee the Self-preservation Society putting even more pressure now as every single Tory MP will now be concerned for their political career as a direct result of him hanging around like a bad smell.

At the last vote of confidence, most of them probably predicted that they'd still win their seat with a reduced majority.  That's changed overnight.

Eta: forgot that the whole reason there was a by-election down in Tiverton was because of the whole porn in the HoC thing.  Couldn't get worse for them there.

I can’t think of any sitting PM who did go willingly, Cameron arguably the closest in recent times.  But they do go.

I omit Blair from this as his reason for going was to start earning the big bucks which was his plan all along.

I get the feeling now that if Johnson doubles down then never mind his Parliamentary 'colleagues', some of his erstwhile cheerleaders in the media may find a few tasty headlines behind the sofa cushions to hasten his departure.  Even the Daily Express has its limits.

If only Labour had someone like Andy Burnham as leader.....
