‘We’ haven’t. The hardcore 30% or so that would vote for a monkey wearing a blue rosette have. And under FPTP the future’s looking pretty bleak.

In Scotland, of course, there is an alternative.

Hopefully it will be exercised soon.

Report to say "we didn't investigate illegality as this was a police matter"

Johnson to say "report didn't find any evidence of criminality"

^Nailed it!^

Suspect too, once everyone's accepted heads are unlikely to roll, Durham Police will make an announcement to the effect that they will not be pursuing any action against Keir Starmer.

Official (paraphrased) line from the junior staff:  we didn't think we were doing anything wrong because the senior staff were there too and never told us off.

You could add from yesterday ‘and the security guard that tried to say this was off got laughed out the shop by them’

You would have hoped that all these expensively-educated politicians and civil servants would have realised that maybe something wasn't right, when the jannie was shaking his head at them. Maybe the jannie should be PM.

For anyone struggling to keep up, I've compiled an exhaustive list of the consequences that will befall Johnston and his government following the publication of this report:

1) Absolutely no consequences whatsoever

8Terms of reference :

"If required, the investigations will establish whether individual disciplinary action is
warranted."

Conclusion:

"7. The matter of what disciplinary action should now take place is outside of the scope of this report and is for others to consider. Nothing set out in this report
can be taken as constituting a disciplinary investigation or findings of fact appropriate for such a purpose. "

Hmmm

Lots of partying, someone throwing up, an altercation and poor treatment of security and cleaning staff by officials, pretty daming really, expect a 2% Tory bump in the polls.

Now that the pesky report's out of the way, perhaps we can collectively move on and deal with Russia, the cost of living, and dog poo on the streets, and stuff like that.  F*** the plebs.

See, I could be a Tory MP too.

Tomorrow will be all about "The Windfall tax" and how it is going to transform peopes lives to such an extent that they may be able to turn on one bar on their electric heater this winter.  This of course is the windfall tax which was seen as a huge deterent to investment a few weeks ago but now might just be really really handy to cover up bad news.
