The Tories have no interest at all in co-operation or compromise. For them it's vital to have continual friction and disagreement, to show the brain-dead here that they're 'standing up for the UK'.

Yet, even as they whine about the evil French and wicked EU constantly bullying plucky Britannia, they have the front to claim others are just trading in grievance.
Distant Doonhamer
Great line about Boris from David Allen Green in his blog yesterday. renton
So Sunak's given an interview to the Express bigging up his "low tax Tory" credentials, meanwhile Truss was making sure she got a photo-op on a Tank while she was out in Estonia for a NATO thing. Looks like both are positioning themselves for a leadership run sooner rather than later.

Aye, but like Trump, after the last election, he has loads of Boris fanboys in the Tory party. Only when these folk think they are at risk of losing their seats will the ever act, but his ego is so massive he'd jump lomg before that. Aside from his own party, he'll know the game is up when the media start to turn on him with real anger. Still he is getting away with it from a lot of them, but you can start to see things cutting through. The mirror/labour will have sat on the christmas party story until they think it can do maximum damage. 6 months ago it would have had little impact, but on the back of the last few months it is reinforcing growing opinions.
