Anyone know how good Coldstream's pitch is for draining the water?  Looking forward to a day trip down south but it's been pelting down here all day and the forecast for the borders doesn't look much better.

Cheers.

Normally very good. Only 3 games off in previous 2 seasons: 2 frozen, other 'waterlogged' in December, passed morning inspection and match ref the only man who thought it unplayable (both clubs wanted to play and I actually went never having considered it as doubtful, walked the park and it was fine).

Heavy rain in Berwickshire earlier, now dry and brightening, blue sky. Depend overnight?

Had a call at 430 from Coldstream who said it was playable.

Will all depend on overnight rain

How is the park at linlithgow??

We live not far from the ground, the missus managed to cut the grass in our garden this evening as the earlier rain had mostly dried up. It's been raining this evening but not heavily. The pitch at Prestonfield drains very well so unless there's a deluge in the hours before the game, it'll be fine. That said, the forecast is for localised heavy and slow-moving thunderstorms so anything could happen.

Clearly games will be off tomorrow. In the case of Colville v Whitehill specifically, the concern could be whether the pitch would survive 2 games in 24 hours next weekend. If not - or if it did and the game ended drawn - you would be talking a weekday afternoon.

Surely early evening matches would still be possible?
