Can understand the need for sponsorship and all that but it's Castle Park you are looking for, if you wind up needing further directions from somebody fae Blantir. What's the history like on the park for holding water ? Forecast is a wee bit stormy next few days ?

More of an Accies fan when it comes to that part of the world.

Not brilliant. Blantyre Vics had a home Junior Cup tie postponed so many times because of the state of the pitch one winter that it ended up getting played indoors at the Ravenscraig Sports Centre in Motherwell. And note that if it does get PPd this Saturday, the second attempt would be on Sunday 18th - Vics have got a home game due on the park on the Saturday. https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/media/5437/first-preliminary-round-fixture-information.pdf

HibeeJibee
Yep. Some clubs have assumed responsibility for some/all cutting. There have been cases of them finding it's been cut/rugged/massacred anyway.

HibeeJibee
Clearly games will be off tomorrow. In the case of Colville v Whitehill specifically, the concern could be whether the pitch would survive 2 games in 24 hours next weekend. If not - or if it did and the game ended drawn - you would be talking a weekday afternoon. That would also be the case if the Auchinleck, Burntisland and Wigtown ties were off and then went to replays.

A weekday afternoon to be punished against a team that isn't allowed to play on its home park. Can see that going down well
HibeeJibee
If in this scenario, if it went to a replay at your place it would also be a weekday afternoon so I wouldn't be getting too bullish about it NB.Lothian Thistle HV v Wigtown & Bladnoch has already fallen victim to an unplayable pitch. They try again next Saturday, cancelling Penicuik v LTHV in EOS Qualifying Cup R1. Edited August 9, 2019 by HibeeJibee
get_the_subbies_on
Anyone know how good Coldstream's pitch is for draining the water? Looking forward to a day trip down south but it's been pelting down here all day and the forecast for the borders doesn't look much better. Cheers.

No getting bullish. It's no their fault but if they had their own park there wouldn't be 2 games played on it over 2 days and have to have the unlikely scenario of a midweek afternoon either way ? Saturday games get better revenue I'm sure especially when you have a social club. -
HibeeJibee
8am inspection for Hawick v Threave. 9am inspection for Easthouses v Penicuik.
