Billy Gilmour

I think it's also worth pointing out that he played higher for Norwich than he has for Scotland and Chelsea and that may continue to be the case (unless Norwich move to a 4-2-3-1), so he'll naturally be less involved building from the back which he's really good at.

Was okay against Southampton, played quite well against Wolves and was disappointing last night. Is that fair? Tottenham and Man Utd next - big test for him.
From what I saw he had a good first half last night and wasn't great in the second. I split my screen between the Norwich and Accies games, though, so ended up not paying full attention to either.

Best player in the Premier League

Certainly not looking much like it in the first half.  Having a bit of a nightmare - Daniel Farke's and Kenny McLean's fault obviously.

Looking at their forum, the still don't seem convinced by Billy Gilmour. Lots of people making excuses for Cantwell being shite though. I swear if Billy Gilmour was some £80 million English jobber, they'd absolutely love him.

no they wouldn't, Maguire is an £80 million ''English Jobber'' and he gets hammered on United forums.

The hype train has never needed a shot in the arm. Any time he plays he's a solid 7/10. What needs a shot in the arm is the "aye but he has faults" train that you're clinging on to. The best you can manage is shitty 2/3 second clips that you do your very best to find.

Now that he looks like he'll be getting regular game time under a manager with half a brain, that should fully derail your

Another 7/10 performance from him yesterday?

He was dug shite against Spurs tbh. He spent the game chasing Skipp’s shadow.

Like McTominay, he’s Barclays quality but not top 4 Barclays quality.

He was hardly dog shite against Spurs. Sure he had a hard time with Skipp but his distribution was first class as usual. He will get better at that aspect of his game

As you have been told numerous times, Gilmour is a fantastic player but he is very young and still has lots of development to go.

If he continues to develop he will be a frightening prospect.

What if he doesn't continue to develop and this is it?

Also I think Moonster said you're not to quote me.
