We missed his composure last night. Mcginn and Armstrong just charged about like maniacs and never kept the ball. mcgregor and gilmour compliemnt each other well and allows us to calm the game down at times.

hopefuly the partnership we see going forward.

Armstrong was so disappointing.  Looked nervous and aimless in possession.  McGregor, Gilmour and Jack in the midfield and  McGinn off Adams for the foreseeable, I would suggest.

The likes of Arsenal should be looking at signing him, that would be a decent move.  Not someone like Norwich who will barely scrape 20 points over the season.
I don't know, Norwich might be closer to how he'll be used in the Scotland squad. He'll need to hold the ball longer and not have as many opportunities with the ball than he would at a better club.

Hes going to have to work hard and really show up for a probable relegation scrap. He can show Tuchel everything he needs to see playing for them. And if he helps them over acheive then so much the better.

What he needs is game time, it really doesnt matter who its for at this stage. Its all about minutes versus the top midfielders around and any EPL loan should give him that. Its not glamorous but that will come. If Friday night is an indication of what he can consistently bring, its going to be a big season for him

Fucking Barcelona should sign him.

And he should refuse all contract extension talks with Chelsea, get a loan for next season and a permanent move next summer. World class in almost every team, just so happens his particular team are going to be playing a way that doesn't suit him at all for the next two or three years so he should bail ASAP and could be first choice for Real Madrid in 18 months no bother at all.

Absolutley. He'd be brilliant virtually anywhere, could play for anyone.

The only thing is Chelsea would ask daft money and he doesn't seem like the cynical type that would be like f**k Chelsea and engineer a move. Bit like Tierney loyal to a fault, apparently he's agreed a five year extension with Arsenal. Incredibly stupid, if he let his contract run down next summer he'd have his pick of the world's top clubs.

Would love to see in a year maybe Gilmour at Barcelona and Tierney at Juventus or something. Its possible and they would get a game but they will probably stay where they are.

Imagine having the option of a Kante-Gilmour pairing in central midfield and not using it. If they did that and spunked their entire budget on Haaland then they would absolutely skoosh the EPL and probably Europe too.

He's just so good. I fully expect him to be the best midfielder in the world in 4-5 years. Like no shit, he's unbelievable.

My concern is that Chelsea sign a replacement for him (which will happen) and he comes back to the same or a worse situation. The ages of Jorginho and Kante might mean that one leaves at the end of next season though.

If he goes out on loan, he’s going to have any number of suitors. If he’s not needed on return, he could have his pick of clubs. He’s that good.

Declan Rice, imo, is well short of the level of Kovacic/Kanye/Jorginho, and is a very different player from Gilmour.

Rice is just another Barkley.

Gilmour is an asset to Chelsea either in playing or money terms. In either scenario, EPL exposure and game time is what he needs and what Chelsea need. Theres no way hes coming to Scotland to play ffs. Tuchel might like Jorginho and Kovacic better, but he has seen Gilmour stroll it against the likes of City and Liverpool and England same as the rest of us.

Not often I agree with your posts but absolutely bang on, Barca are looking to build a squad of young guys who they can build a team round and can't think of anyone more suited to that than Gilmour.
