Noticed in ScottishFootballFixtures that Celtic Colts v Partick Thistle is due to be played at Dumbarton on Tuesday night. I'll probably head along to that, anyone know what they'll charge on the gate so I can show up prepared?

Admission for all games is £5 as far as I know.

Bump.

I see that as with a number of minor and non-league cups this is being run over 2 seasons so completing this campaign.

Rangers B drew 0-0 with Queen's Park on Monday 2nd November, Celtic B won 4-0 at Partick on Tuesday past, and remaining groupstage fixtures are:

Tue 1st Dec ... Clyde v Rangers B
Mon 7th Dec ... Celtic B v Rangers B
Tue 15th Dec ... Queen's Park v Rangers B
TBA ... Queen's Park v Clyde

Anyone except Queen's Park can still reach January's final.

Why has this not been binned?

Do you mean last season's edition or the Glasgow Cup entirely.

If the former: numerous of last season's cups are being completed.

Scottish Cup most obviously.

SPFL also said plans to play outstanding Challenge Cup Final, which is Raith v Inverness.

South Challenge Cup SFs then Final are being played in opening quarter of new year... Highland League Cup SFs then Final were played last month... EOS Qualifying Cup which has 6 ties left will be completed in spring, should dates allow.

Sounds like they will also try to finish the Junior Cup which has 7 or 8 ties left - though a complication is all participants bar 2 have 'mothballed'.

Most notable cups to be abandoned, and not held-over, were Southern Counties Cup (at SFs stage) and Fife Cup (with 1 x QF outstanding).

Tweedie Cup for SOSL clubs was also abandoned at SFs.

East of Scotland Cup for 2018-19... which had been held-over into 2019-20... was abandoned with Spartans already in Final awaiting Edinburgh City/Camelon.

Celtic B 3-0 Rangers B yesterday. It appears Clyde v Rangers B last week was postponed.

That means Celtic top group (presumably granting home advantage in Final?).

Partick on 11pts are finished. Rangers on 8pts and Clyde on 7pts must both visit Queen's Park, and play each other at Broadwood.

Queen's Park 0-3 Rangers B last Tuesday.

Clyde v Rangers B tonight.

Avoiding defeat sees Rangers qualify for final. Clyde must win, then win again at Queen's Park - "date tba". (If they could win by 12+ goals tonight they'd only need to draw with QP... but that sort of margin looks unlikely to say the least!).

Why did Clyde enter this shitty Cup?

Development?

Game time?

Glory?

Clyde 0-2 Rangers B

Rangers B qualify as runners-up and will presumably travel to Parkhead to face Celtic B in the Final next month.

Queen's Park v Clyde is a dead-rubber. Who knows if it'll be played.

The Final will be played in January at Broadwood.

Tuesday 12th January
Glasgow Cup Final
Celtic B v Rangers B
at Clyde

This was cancelled at the time and - somewhat strangely IMO - never rescheduled, meaning the tournament was abandoned despite them having pressed on and completed the double-round-robin groupstage.

This season's tournament started last night and will only include a single-round-robin with each club playing 2 home + 2 away games.

However top 4 out of 5 will progress into SFs instead of top 2 progressing into Final.

Clyde 1-1 Celtic B was last night's starter with a Ben Wylie opener for the visitors being cancelled out by a David Goodwillie penalty at the death for the hosts.

Next up is Rangers B v Partick Thistle on Tuesday 14th December at Rangers Academy (not Ibrox or Dumbarton). There is then a outline of which games should be in which subsequent month:

January        Partick v Queen's Park / Celtic B v Rangers B

February     Rangers B v Clyde / Queen's Park v Celtic B

March           Queen's Park v Rangers B / Partick v Clyde
March           Celtic B v Partick / Clyde v Queen's Park

April               Semi-Finals

May                Final

EDIT: Some other interesting oddities in the competition rules... If any clubs end-up tied on points, GD, GF and head-to-head score (unlikely granted!) there will be an extra playoff round for those clubs. SFs are 1st v 3rd and 2nd v 4th (not 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd - i.e. on paper you're better to finish 4th instead of 3rd).

Games "should take place at a recognised League ground". Final on neutral venue.

Players out on loan - plus trialists (max 2) - can participate. Clyde, Partick and Queen's Park must start at least 6 "recognised 1st team players". Celtic B and Rangers B can field U21s plus 2 overage players. Trialists can play in max 3 games.

Minimum entry is £5 adults, and £2 concessions/U16s.

The referee had a fucking nightmare.
