If you go past the pubs, coffee houses, cafes, bookies, burger outlets, sandwich bars, tanning salons and co-op funeral places then i'm sure you'll be delighted with your choice of real food outlets or shops on any high street.

Alas . . . . . . . . .

Tried to move away from online shopping as much as I can.

Don't buy my groceries online - go to Asda

Buy most of my clothes when I'm in the States.

I try and source stuff I want in shops rather than go online.

You hear a lot of folk complaining that there's nothing on the high street that they're interested in anymore, but exactly what kind of shops are people referring to? Woolworths, BHS, C&A? Genuinely curious.

I guess I miss looking round some of the independent entertainment-based shops you used to get dotted about most towns, but that's only until I remember how much more variety and choice there is online. Other than that, shopping was a chore. At least you can do it in your pants in front of the telly these days.

Have never bought groceries online, prefer to see what I'm buying. I like to shop around especially where the supermarkets are concerned. Morrisons butchers for lorne sausage 😍, Charity shops for books, Poundland for various crap, McColls for a nice morning roll. Very few independent traders left here sadly.

Falkirk high street is grim.

...and has been for a long time too. The retail park was the final nail in the coffin.

Not as bad as Callendar Square, though. First time I went in there, it was so empty that I figured it must have just opened. Turned out it'd been there for three years

That's the best eupemism for 'porn video vendors' I've ever read.

Where have you lived that the high street was full of porn shops?

Certainly can't argue with that at the Wellgate side. Walked through the Murraygate the other week. Grim.

i like manifesto and the deli called gazeley’s on castle street. outstanding shop. also use the local butchers.

Manifesto is a shit hole. Overpriced and occasionally pre-worn and returned to the hanger clothing. No thanks.

Gazeleys is brae. The chilli sauce and pakora.

Grossetts for most of the butcher needs.
