Bathgate Thistle 2019/20 or maybe not !

Shame if they cant go on.

Committees really need to be active in putting in place succession plans, its a common failing across the Juniors.

Best mates at Uni with someone who now stays in Bathage and been to a few games over the last couple of years or so their main problem seems to be that the town just doesnt seem in anyway interested in them and the gates when I've been to games have been shockingly poor.  Wasnt really in the East when they were being financially juiced so dont know if that brought punters through the doors and its fallen away alongside the club or were they poorly supported before the glory days?

Agreed that it will be a big shame if they have to fold for this reason. It does seem indeed they don't really get the attention in Bathgate, which is a shame and probably contributed to this.

Its strange a town the size of Bathgate cant find more than 20/30 to watch the team each week.

Bathgate have never had a large core support that the likes of Armadale and Whitburn used to enjoy.  People would turn out for big Junior Cup games but otherwise it was fairly poor for a town of that size.  That said, when we were in the ERJFA Premier two seasons ago both games attracted over 150, and Bathgate were struggling near the bottom at the time. A fair few from Blackburn mind you.

Hopefully they dig themselves out of the hole they're currently in, they have the facilities, maybe they just need a fresh start and a new challenge.

EDIT: Aren't they part of Bathgate Thistle CFC? in which case is there no interest from the community side to help out?

I hear Bathgate have called an EGM and there is a fair chance they wont be playing this season. Only 2 committee members left apparently.

Utter nonsense on all points.

Well there's an EGM tonight, he's right with that isn't he?

Its on their facebook page that their is an EGM. Maybe they are going to run a Reserve team in the East of Scotland League next year as a tribute act to the real deal

So there was an EGM.

Main sponsor - related to bloke that runs DEM Master - is pulling out.

Willie  Hill no longer putting money in - he was until last season.

Need £15K to keep going

Only 2 committee members.

If you dont think that there means the club is in danger get your head out of the sand.  I am not happy about this by the way. Decent club with great facilities.
