2019/20 West League 1

Recommended Posts

Now we're not groundsharing which necessitates rolling the park more than the groundsman would like, we've only really had games off when almost everything else is off. At the moment, we're due a dry(ish) Friday, which should mean game on.
Hope so anyway - sent Saturday's programme off to the printer this morning!

Fingers crossed mate. Looking forward to the game.

Maryhill 2 The Gow 3. Maryhill started much better than The Gow and The Gow were lucky only to be 1 nil down before they started playing. 30 mins in and once they got going they looked comfortable and went 3.1 up before Maryhill scores late on to make it look closer than it really was. Good game tho. [emoji106]

If Larkhall can keep 11 players on the park,I think we could sneak 3rd place
After watching today's game a wouldn't think so, created very little up front and looked very suspect at the back, especially left back, who was then replaced by the boy dickson who was even worse, he kicked more kello players than he did the ball, a few decent players in the Larkhall team but not enough to challenge for any promotion places, if kello had took their chances it could have been 6 maybe 7,

Excellent result for Lanark today, inflicting Shettleston's first league defeat. Nothing less than we deserved.

Impressed by Shettleston's tough back line and keeper who pulled off 3 excellent saves today.

We've taken 4 points from Shettleston and all 6 points from Ardrossan, who some on here are tipping for promotion.  We are a long way from being out of the promotion places.

A would easily say lanark are the best side we've played,

So many twists and turns to this league yet.  Promotion places apart from shettleston, none of the teams near the top can be certain they're going up.  As for relegation, so many teams could get sucked into the battle.  Personally I think ek thistle and the Albert are gone however it will be an exciting finish to the season.

Deserved maybe ...but helped by a dubious decision with the penalty.....

Both keepers performed today ...the two point blank saves from Halford in the 1st 10 mins were class....the young lad at left back looks like he has a bright future ...for his age he was very composed....the opening goal was a class finish also..

It was definitely a penalty from where we were standing. Some excellent photos on our website would back this up and there were very few protests from the home defence. Gareth always makes a save or two to keep us in it.

First goal was indeed good. Our young left back was thrown in for his second game at the very last minute due to an illness in the warm up to our CB. He was also excellent on his debut v Kello .

Carluke getting some decent results since the manager was give the boot. Has Weiry been given the job full time? Noticed he hasn’t been playing much recently.

Formally appointed now. Looks like he is hanging up his boots after giving Carluke such excellent service for 20 years.

Never felt they were in danger of going down. Certainly not now that he has steadied the ship.

Good luck Weiry. Mr Carluke.

Can’t be many players play for the one team for over 20 years? Anybody have anyone like this at their club ?
