Big game for us 4th January against Dalbeattie.

Suppose a 3-1 defeat against Kelty is not a disaster.

Seems we were improved today.

Wouldn't be too hard as last week we were a bit of a mess, especially first half.

Much better performance, despite loss thought we were the better side, and some kelty fans agreed. Alot of passion, fight and hard work were there today. Should have a few additions come the new year. The game against dalbeattie is a must win imo.

Though did Kelty just " switch " off after going 3 up early?

Hope it's not Threave going up.  I don't think that would help the club or the pyramid in general.

Why would Threave  going up not help the Pyramid in general?

I wouldn't say they switched off, we played really well and stopped them playing their game.they got frustrated as everything they did, we dealt with. And took the game to them. Just unfortunate they scored 3 early goals, but they are so clinical. If we play like that against the teams around us then we will pick up alot of points.

Some interesting results at the wrong end of the table today. Both Vale and Gretna pick up their second wins of the season to send Edinburgh Uni bottom. Gretna got an impressive away win at Cumbernauld.

Berwick Rangers 1-0 Caledonian Braves
Cumbernauld Colts 0-1 Gretna 2008
East Kilbride 3-1 Dalbeattie Star
Edinburgh University 0-3 East Stirlingshire
Gala Fairydean Rovers 1-3 Vale of Leithen

Edinburgh University go bottom. Gives some hope to VoL & Gretna. Berwick despite losing some of their players recently look to be well clear of it now.

What if Vale finish 3rd bottom and dont get floodlights on time ?

More potential baw aches and chaos for the LL 🤔

First article is from the end of October which has some council reps giving some positiive quotes.

Second is from the middle of November after they had their public meeting. Since then there's been someone asking on Facebook if there's any update and one of the committee reps that seemed positive but couldn't say anything more.

Looks like they're hoping to get floodlights thrown up in time, while trying to become more of a community hub longer term.

Gretna were worthy winners over Cumbernauld Colts today. Probably should have won by more than the one goal.

And missed a Penalty too.

I remember it being posted on here before but can't remember where...can someone post again which teams from the Lowland League would be relegated into the South of Scotland League if they were to finish bottom?  I think it was Gretna, Dalbeattie, Caledonia Braves and East Kilbride and the rest would go into the EoS but not 100% sure.

You're right it's just Gretna 2008, Dalbeattie Star, Caledonian Braves and East Kilbride that would be relegated to the SoSFL.

BSC Glasgow to go by their right name and Cumbernauld as well 🤔

How are they different is there any sort of boundary line  ?

Membership mate. Prior to the LL, EK joined the SoS then jumped into the LL when it was formed. Colts and BSC took the move to join EoS rather than SoS.

👍 Gretna and Dalbeattie used to be members of EoS as well.

Geographics just dont seem right for the pyramid  ?

Not the way I understand it to work. East Kilbride and Gretna 2008 are both members of the EoSFA to compete in the likes of the Qualifying Cup. Yet both go to the SoSFL if relegated.

East Stirlingshire never joined any local FA when relegated and yet will be relegated to the EoSFL.

They just seem to decide amongst themselves. EK and CB are both South of Glasgow so I guess make most sense for SoSFL. Whereas Cumbernauld is to the North East of it. BSC play in Alloa and until that changes will be considered a EoSFL side.

I’m not 100% on this but my understanding is we are not members of either EoS or SoS. We applied for entry to the LL from our inception so it would only be if we were relegated would a decision need to be made. Where we play our home games doesn’t factor, we’re a Glasgow club.
