Am I correct in saying there are scenarios where no one is relegated from this league? And not just limited to league winners below being non-licensed.

There is 1 such scenario: where LL champion goes up but bottom of SPFL2 goes to HL. To stay at 16 teams bottom of LL is reprieved. Any other scenarios involve no-one being eligible for promotion which is fair enough.

There is an alternative model used in EOSL where an extra club is promoted rather than someone being reprieved. (Thus should EOS Premier Division otherwise be 1 club short, then both runners-up in the EOS First Division conferences are promoted rather than having a playoff for the last promotion place). You would have an issue doing that in LL as you couldn't want to hold your EOSL-SOSL playoff only to discover both clubs were being promoted anyway... nor find you needed to promote 1 runner-up and find you needed a playoff but didn't hold one. In the EOS First Division the league season ends May 16th, same day SPFL-HL/LL and EOSL-SOSL playoff 2nd legs are played, so it's immediately known if the promotion playoff is required or not.

Fundamentally wrong that a team could finish bottom with 0 points and not be relegated.

Fully understand that the EoS/SoS playoff situation makes an extra promotion spot complicated but something needs to be done long-term about the SoS's place in the pyramid. 12 first teams from D&G plus one from Ayrshire and two reserve sides can't have equal status with the EoS and potentially a WoS later on.

It could be argued that the SoSFL is in a similar spot that the EoSFL expected to be in 2018-19. Originally the outlook was only a handful of clubs like Dalkeith, Clydebank and Blackburn would move with amateurs rumoured and it would end up a 18 team league.

Get 3/5 clubs to move to the SoSFL with licensing on their agenda you end up with a 18-20 league.  The other week there was a full Friday night fixture list so there's enough clubs with floodlights to avoid fixture congestion. It's maybe easier to do than creating a WoSFL from a blank piece of paper. But then that's been said for nearly 2 years now.

As it currently stands, when Brechin lose the play-off to Kelty then no one will be relegated from the LL.

Think you’re a bit naive to completely rule out Brora who weren’t far off Cove last season, are doing very well this season, took Morton to a replay and typically have a very good record against LL clubs (heavy win over Strollers, wins over Edinburgh City, Vale of Leithen) and SPFL clubs (wins over East Fife, Stranraer, Stenny). That’s pretty much a 50/50 tie with Kelty, although both would comfortably beat Brechin.

Brechin can hardly beat one team at the moment, never mind two.

Looks like it's a three team mini league at the bottom - Gretna 6, Edinburgh Uni 5, VoL 4, though Dalbeattie on 10 could still be dragged in. Gretna play them both in February, while Uni and VoL play on the 21st and all three still have a game against Dalbeattie.

Good wins for Gala and Berwick today.

Took in Gala vs Stirling uni. Both teams imo will not be in the relegation battle. Stirlings number 9 and the boy on the wing Jarvis? looked very sharp. Galas firepower up top were relentless seemed too quick and strong for the young uni defence at times.

11-0 at Kelty today. Add more relegation places.

Way things are going neither side will be playing in the league next season. Though with the top two EOS team without a licence, you'd only have the option of promoting Threave Rovers.
