Following last year's experience they've put some thought into the relegation scenarios that could come up going forward. The changes lead to certain situations where there maybe no relegation in a given year. Doubt it's going to change to 2 until the west come on board so that you can have two feeders and automatic promotion from both. And for this season it's basically automatic promotion for the EoS winner anyway, as it's highly likely they will be licensed (8/16 currently, with Tranent just needing lights plus Bo'ness and Newtongrange probably close). That leaves Crossgates, Dunbar, Musselburgh, Newtongrange and Sauchie. With the possible exception of Musselburgh they seem to be tipped for the lower end not the title. As such it looks fairly hard for the EOSL champion not to be promoted: they would either have to not be licensed, or else lose to SOSL champion over 2 legs (assuming of course they were even licensed: this season the highest placed such club was Threave who finished 9th). Plus, 2nd place Bonnyton were beaten 3-0 by Camelon and 3-2 by now First Division Preston, so even if they got a licence (still don't think they have cover?) and won the SoS it would still be very unlikely they'd beat the EoS champions. Suppose we'll see how the SoS teams get on in their 13 games against EoS/LL opposition in the South Challenge Cup... True enough. Other clubs like Haddington and St Andrews are also involved in the process... However for the purposes of this question these clubs are playing in the plural conferences of the EOSL First Division in the coming campaign, therefore unable to win promotion to LL for the following season regardless of licence. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Screen fencing is already at the park awaiting being installed. New toilet blocks are being installed in the next week (licence compatible) and the internal changing rooms (home and away) have had their work done to achieve the licence criteria. All the other rooms required are also available (medical room etc).In essence we are progressing well and should hopefully be in a position in the next couple of months to be audited and gain our licence.The hardworking committee and sponsors should be rightly proud of where the club is right now and deserve immense credit for their continual push to keep the club progressing. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

lowenan Posted August 4, 2019 Share Posted August 4, 2019 (edited) Weak start by Gretna, Vale Of Leithen, Edinburgh University and Dalbeattie Star. No surprise, as most would have predicted the four to finish last. I think Linlithgow Rose, Penicuik, Bo’ness and Broxburn are all stronger than these four teams (same with the top west junior sides). So it’s going to be tough to stay up the next few years.
