Guest Bob Mahelp
The day they bring VAR into Scottish football will be the day I stop going.

Clyde01
That team of officials for the first old firm game of next season would be some banter.
J_Stewart
All about diversity and inclusion these days. A fucking North Korean female referee. What the f**k is going on with the world.Shut your fucking hole you bigoted arsehole -
djchapsticks
Scotland's own fault but let's be honest, that referee completely lost her marbles there. She blew full time and was like 'it was 4 minutes and I added 5', totally devoid of any comprehension of the rules. The fucking farce of a penalty took 8 minutes to resolve from the 87th minute, so of course it should have gone to at least 99 mins. What a fucking logic vacuum.

The rule says they must have at least one foot on the line when the ball is struck.

O'Kelly Isley III
Ironically the best performance but the cruellest result. Cuthbert and Emslie were excellent but there were too many crucial errors elsewhere at this level. The first Argentina goal was the tuning point but the referee was at fault here and at many other times. The bigger picture is though that VAR as it stands will kill football as an honest spectator sport.
LincolnHearts
That referee should be removed from the tournament. Made the likes of Collum and Beaton look like Pierluigi Collina.

tintax
Social media awash with we was robbed chat. Bottom line is we should never be throwing away a 3 goal lead in the first place. Only themselves to blame.
pozbaird
With these new rules, even Dundee United might have managed to score a penalty at the Simple Digital Theatre of Bad Dreams.
Replays
Forget VAR - being 3-0 up with twenty minutes left and not winning is pathetic. VAR will cover up an absolutely farcical collapse. As annoying as it is, technically no decision involving the penalty was incorrect.

LincolnHearts
The whole VAR system needs an overhaul and be more like the Challenges in tennis or an LBW appeal in cricket.

Surely the rule isn't meant to lead to goalies standing behind the line or having to dive straight down to the side. It has come in to stop 'keepers narrowing the angles by being closer than 12 yards when the ball is struck. You can dive wherever you like but you must be on the line when attacker strikes. You could see the referee specifically warning our 'keeper this - although given our captain was simultaneously raging at the ref in front of her, it may not have come across. DeeTillEhDeh
I would prefer an appeal system for VAR - like they have in tennis or cricket - limit the number to say 2 appeals per half with an additonal one for extra time. if you use it and it is upheld you keep your life . We've seen some games utterly destroyed by rvfes constantly going to VAR. There also has to be far greater clarity regrads some of the rules - handball is now a joke - they seem to have taken any notion of intent or accidental handball out of the game.
