Things get changed at half time when they need to dig themselves out a hole and it's only then Scotland start to play. Argentina look like a team who can shitfest their way through a game and snatch a winner. Interesting though that the Argentina coach cites their lack of fitness as a possible weakness. The Scots women have worked with SportScotland and fitness has been one of the main areas they have had a real focus on. It could be a reason they finish the last 20mins of games strongly (both games in the World Cup so far and also the near-miraculous late show against Poland in qualifying) and are stil chasing everything down when their opponents are gasping for a break. In previous World Cups and this year's Cup of Nations they've leaked goals and given no hint they'd play as well as they have particularly against Japan. Against England they could have lost by a barrowload if it hadn't been for the same goalie who let in 11 to Germany in her previous World Cup appearance. Sometimes there's no logic. Funny that Scotland have already scored as many goals in this World Cup as Argentina have in all their matches across three World Cup appearances. Slightly concerning that they beat Colombia 3-1 in the final stages of the Copa America Feminina (also used as CONMEBOL qualifying) who were ranked in the 20s by FIFA (same as us currently). I am also less confident about the aforementioned fitness aspect as I just found out that Argentina played 7 (seven) games in a fortnight in that qualifying process. They did lose the last two games 0-3 (against Brazil) and 0-4 (against hosts Chile) though. Chile are ranked similar to Argentina (37 and 39) so perhaps they did somewhat run out of steam...
