Estragon
I've always felt you've got to run on to the ball for it to be a nutmeg, and tbh I can't believe I'm in the minority here.
deadasdillinger
A nutmeg is putting it through someone's legs, whether for yourself (though you do have to successfully collect it to have any sort of bragging rights), a pass, or megging a keeper for a goal. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a nae richter.
Les Westander of County
Surely it has no 'meg credentials if the ball goes harmlessly out of your team's possession. You've just done a useless touch which happened to go between some legs. It may look like a nutmeg but you'd feel a bit dirty to claim it as anything.

If you are the last person to touch the ball and it goes between a players legs is it a meg whether intentional or not? Were the legs in an unnatural position?

Haha, the player 2 is running towards the ball to assist a teammate (p 1) and a touch off the opponent sees it goes through player 2s legs even though he wasn’t looking to do that.
stevieKTID
I did a lovely panna tonight (as the nutmeg is known in these parts) we lost the game but the guy i panna'd said he liked it and gave me a big hug at the end of the game, totally made my night.

dumpweed
Late to the party on this one but I'm looking for confirmation; If the defender touches the ball during the "nutmeg" are we in agreement that the nut meg becomes null and void?

crispy
Saw this and couldn’t let it lie, “...strikes it and nutmegs the ‘keeper!”. The keeper made an arse of it not the striker nutmegging him. Please discuss. Edited July 8, 2019 by crispy
