Spoke for a bit with him today before kick off and he is certainly under no illusions on how hard it will be for Darvel to get promoted .He speaks honestly and passonionatly about his club and certainly is no big time Charlie .Even at full time and obviously disappointed he seeked me out to shake hands and wish us well so based on meeting and speaking with him there is some amount of nonsense written about him on here .The added pressure from Darvel Legend is not needed. The guys predicting match day squads, Leagues, Cups, Best dressing rooms....The only thing you are doing is putting a big target on Darvels back when things don’t go to plan.Sure you’ve got a good team who will are still gelling, A good manager who will be successful, A hard working committee who want to improve the club. But what they have in you DL is a man who clearly gives them added pressure, A negative arrogance that could be prevented. It's sad sometimes to see some great old names of Junior football on here not even get a mention. Even the weakest teams will have 20 or 30 regulars on a bad day. Yet not one of them can access social media and say hey look, we've got a game on next Saturday. Or the other teams were it's obviously the manager who can thus name every player and trialist in the West Region because he's tried to sign them at the five teams he's managed at in the last five seasons. Have a lot of players who are playing below their level and perhaps are trying too hard to get promoted too quick. Lack of focus can be a problem when you know you are better than the opposition. The amount of goals conceeded is maybe a reflection on that.
