Not sure what part Covid plays in which league Fauldhouse play in and WOSFL wouldn't be a good enough reason.
Plus we've yet to see any indication that the Hoose or any other West Lothian have any interest in applying.

Livi applied in the last couple of weeks and got rd by the EOS that their application was too late, it's on the livi Facebook.

Livingston on the move

Official Club Statement

The Season 2020-21 will be our clubs 50th Anniversary playing in the Junior grade of the game after being reformed in 1970, and it looks as if it will be the clubs last.
As the club would like to announce that we have applied to move to the East of Scotland We were to late to meet the deadline of the 31rst March for the up and coming season
(if any football gets played this year coming at all) but the application has been submitted to the EoSFA for next season.
We feel that after the recent exodus of clubs moving to the East of Scotland and also the creation of the new WoSFL in the west there are now less ways for our club to develop and grow within the Junior grade.
Our management team are young and ambitious and with the team they are building deserve to ply their trade at a higher level and moving to the East of Scotland has to be the next step in them achieving this.
The ERSJFA have been made aware of our plans for the future and we will keep them apprised of the situation as our application progresses.
We would like to thank the East of Scotland Football League for their help with the application and look forward to a new beginning for Livingston United Football Club.

Good statement well put -

‘We missed their deadline. Fair enough. We’ll go next year’.

On the plus side Livi Utd know exactly where they stand and have a year (ish - depending on covid situation) to prepare for transition to EOS.

Think they are angling for AGM entry similar to what Kinnoull got last year. If the BUs get promoted there will be an odd number of teams left in the tier 7 conferences and that arguably creates a vacancy.

Possibly.  But there seems a genuine acceptance that they haven’t just been unnecessarily rejected.  Seeing positive progressive statements coming out of West Lothian is unusual but deserve respect and not cynicism.

Quote from the EOS Ethical Policy - not quite sure how they fulfill this if they accept a Club who never applied for 20/21 and were rejected already just to make up an even number.  Oh I forgot - they done the same with Kinnoull last year so why worry about policies !!

"The East of Scotland Football League will conduct its business honestly and
ethically wherever we operate.
We will deliver a recognised quality of service, products and operations and
will maintain a reputation for honesty, fairness, respect, responsibility,
integrity, trust and sound business judgement.
No illegal or unethical conduct on the part of the League Officials or Members is in either the League’s or the wider football community’s best interest.
The League will not compromise its principles for short-term advantage.
The ethical performance of the East of Scotland Football League is the sum of ethics of the people working within the League or its Members. Thus, we are all expected to adhere to the same high standards of personal integrity.

Explain how it would be unethical for the EoS to admit a new applicant club if the existing members agree?

I don't believe there was ever a formal application from Livingston for membership. An enquiry perhaps.

I don't think both of those things can happen. If they never applied, they could never have been rejected.

In their own words they applied after the deadline for the 2020-21 season and have an application in for 2021-22. If a vacancy has been deemed to arise by the EoSFL, doesn't it make sense that the EoSFL would go to the club with a deferred application to see if they want to join now?

Kinnoul made an enquiry last season after the deadline and were told they'd need to apply for the following season, which they did.  Eyemouth then withdrew late in the day before AGM and Kinnoul were offered the chance to come in this season.  They accepted and the members voted them in at AGM.

No idea if that is even a possibility with Livingston or not - the above statement implies that they have applied for 21/22 - depends if Bo'ness get their licence and go to the LL (almost a certainty) but at the end of the day the EoS are in control of who does or does not get admitted to their league. Nobody else. It's not the concern of the EoS if that upsets anyone or at least it shouldn't be.

Everyone's at the mercy of the SFA on this one. Chances are the SFA AGM might be after the Lowland League and EoSFL AGMs. In which case you're likely to see the ripple effect of Bo'ness United getting their SFA membership, which leads to the invitatation to the Lowland League. Fixture list wouldn't be out so its easy to slot them in. The EoSFL would have confirmed their 18 team EoS Premier and Conference set up. So Inverkeithing move up and Livingston United get an invite to fill Inverkeithing in their Conference. The only possible issue at that point is if they have done the cup draws for the SCC, Qualifying Cup & Alex Jack Cup.

Yes an official application was made by Livingston after the deadline date.

There was an enquiry, not a formal application because they were told they were too late, but to apply for next season. At least that is my understanding. It never went to EGM for clubs to vote on.

Either way they appear to have applied for 21/22.
