BREAKING: Andy Murray has confirmed that he will play doubles with Pierre-Hugues Herbert at @Wimbledon.

Tweet from Sky Sports
He's also been trying to find a partner for the mixed doubles, he had asked Ashleigh Barty but she knocked him back as she is already playing in the singles and ladies doubles.

Generally in doubles a good team defend the centre of the court extremely well, as a doubles player doesn’t really have the passing shot in their repertoire.

Murray and López lost easy points being unable to defend the middle as competently as their opponents, but they were passed time after time.

The angles on the volleys were far superior too. Think Jamie will regret not teaming up with Andy this summer.

Only seen a little bit of tonight’s match. Murray mugged Evans off with a trademark lob in the game just before it stopped.

He looks pretty sharp, the serve motion is better, doesn’t appear in pain. Hopefully the hip can hold up to the rigours of singles play.

With a bad hip he was still able to beat Wawrinka, Edmund and Goffin last year. Plenty to be positive about.

Seems to be a lot of people wanting to play mixed doubles with him too. Great partner for the doubles, grass court specialist and should give Federer a good match tomorrow.

Murray's partner Lopez just played his singles semi which he won, straight on to finishing off his doubles Q final with Murray, and is now playing the Semi with Murray straight after. Don't think he's even been for a pish. Might give him a break from thinking about the corruption allegations though.

Think he has now reached the point where he can't sit down between points.

I bet on that match that is in question. The team they played were outsiders, however Feli retired injured the day before. Mannarino absolutely scudded him in sets two and three, and he retired in the fourth. He could barely move.

The bookies didn’t change their odds quick enough. Although I’d be interested to see how much money was going on in play.

Anyway they took the first set 7-5 and are looking pretty sharp.

Just now, peasy23 said:

Brilliant for Murray, but what a week for Lopez.

Hope he's not too knackered to give that girlfriend of his a good seeing to tonight. He deserves it.  And she's like a young Penelope Cruz.

Would love to see Murray teaming up with Lopez again.

Lopez went off court for about 10min for a quick shower and change between the singles match and the 1st doubles match.
