Wimbledon and the grass court season

She’s on the alternates list for the main draw - she’ll get a qualifying draw entry.

James Ward got a main draw wild card and Katie Swan did too. I’d imagine they are so late this year as they gave Murray as much time as possible.

Stan looked pretty good today on the grass, Dan Evans had been in good form. It’s good to see grass court tennis back

Jo Konta dumped out in straight sets to former French Open champion Jelena Ostapenka at Birmingham today
Doesn't sound like a good result until it's pointed out that Ostapenko got to the semis at Wimbledon last year.

Best player on the court by an absolute mile

Great performance considering he has not played a competitive match for 5 months

Would love it if he could get right back to the top again. Looks like the desire is there and seeing Federer and Nadal showing great longevity could inspire him further.

Great news. Hope they can go deep enough to get an appearance on one of the show courts. That would get Andy right back in the zone.

Fitness allowing, is it possible that he can compete at the very top again? I seem to remember Nadal having serious injury issues which he has overcame.

Is it just me, or do when 2 singles players team up they usually pump the top doubles teams?

By virtue of being far superior tennis players usually. Helps that the pair of them are both excellent volleyers and have played doubles before, enough to be competent at it.
