Tynecastle FC
League Cup 2nd round tie tonight between Tynecastle and Musselburgh will go ahead as planned. No issues with the pitch. this eagerly awaited tie should be a cracker and deserves a big crowd. the action at Meggetland gets under way at 7.30pm. This will be Tynecastle’s first competitive match since 28th January!
RobM
Tynecastle can count themselves unlucky last night, good side and looked a pretty tight unit. Did get a laugh at Callum Elliot getting booked while trying to get a Musselburgh player booked though. Nice nostalgic moment for those of us that wondered what the hell he was doing at Tynecastle back in the day. Seriously though, good to see him still involved in the game, always seemed a likeable guy. Actually checked out his Wiki today only to find he'd managed Mousehole in Cornwall fairly recently. Credit due for taking himself all the way there but I have to say the mind boggles a bit as to how this one came about.

First 10 minutes, Tynecastle flew out the traps but as the match went on, Musselburgh began to take control. Tynecastle took an early lead, but when Musselburgh came back to lead, I thought we'd win comfortably. Last weekend, two substitutes changed the match in our favour when Musselburgh were going through a bad period in match. This time it was the exact opposite and we crumbled a bit after the double substitution in second half - allowing Tynecastle to get the equaliser and they played/finished extra time better/stronger that Burgh. Our 4 pens were brilliantly taken to see us into the 3rd round of League cup.
HibeeJibee
Hawick v Whitehill... kickoff at Hawick Linden RFC delayed to 8:30pm - serious injury during the preceding rugby game. Could be 11pm finish if ET+penalties. From memory this must be the latest kickoff at this level since Wednesday 10th April 2013... by chance another EOS League Cup tie - namely Edinburgh City v Gretna 2008. On that occasion Gretna's bus broke down at West Linton and they'd to be brought on in a fleet of taxicabs. Match was hastily reclassified as an outstanding league game, due to a curfew on Meadowbank's lights, and (IIRC) got underway around 8:30pm. Off-field action proved as unusual...
