roman_bairn
"Other people did it, wah wah wah" isn't a defence for breaking the rules.Neither is making up the rules as you go along. I.e. UEFA....

roman_bairn
Something which they haven't done, which is why several clubs have already been punished by them in previous seasons for breaching Financial Fair Play.As has already been stated by City, some of the financial decisions taken were done in consultation with UEFA. How therefore can they be accused of rule breaking? City feel strongly enough to launch a robust defence.Let’s see what happens.....
Salvo Montalbano
As has already been stated by City, some of the financial decisions taken were done in consultation with UEFA. How therefore can they be accused of rule breaking? City feel strongly enough to launch a robust defence.Let’s see what happens..... They were already found guilty of breaking FFP regulations and had a cap on their European Squad. So they have broken the rules. The new ban is more to do with their lack of transparency than for the original breach. Some people have made the analogy of speeding - if you get caught you get 3 points and a fine. If you lie about not being the driver and are caught you face jail time. City are in the second group having already being found guilty of the first. Like they were caught speeding in a 30, paid the fine claiming they were doing 40 but they were actually doing 90.

topcat(The most tip top)
I rather suspect that CAS will suspend the ban pending an outcome which will be many years away.If City are at fault for breaching FFP, do you really think the majority of other top clubs in the competition are innocent parties that are somehow being hard done by?… There are only two state owned clubs in the competition So the others are obviously innocent with respect to this particular kind of thing And PSG and City have had 6 years to get things in order since their initial bans Even if UEFA collar Spurs (for example) for an infringement tomorrow they would have to f**k about till 2026 before it escalated to this level.

craigkillie
Poor roman_bairn having to resort to shilling for the human rights abusers in the Abu Dhabi Royal Family because they happened to buy a football club he likes.

Been a follower since ‘76 and did a lot of work with the club a few years back.As I said, let’s see what happens with CAS. Odds are City will be in the CL next season.....

Odds are City will be in the CL next season.....Only way for City to be in the Champions League next season I can see is if the appeal hasn't been heard. I'm not sure where all the confidence City and their fans have is coming from. They haven't denied the accuracy of the hacked emails, just said that they have been taken out of context. They didn't cooperate with the FFP Judiciary Committee (unlike PSG who like them or loathe them did) and their laughable claim that the panel was biased when 1. They signed up for that procedure when they signed up for FFP in the first place and 2. The panel was mostly made up of experienced lawyers with no skin in this particular game will be disregarded. The regulations have been applied to other (dare we say bigger) clubs - AC Milan anyone - and the club have already admitted guilt for the original offence.

JamieStevenson
Hope Angelino and Mukiele are on form here. If they are it'll be a thrashing against that diddy Spurs defence.
