Linlithgow Rose - 2019 onwards

Recommended Posts

Greg Skinner signs from Boness.
Smallish for a centrehalf. More suited to be a sweeper behind a more physical aerial battler. Greg is very quiet on the pitch.

Positives are his positional sense, he can tackle but usually deals with opponents while staying on his feet and he is a good passer of the ball.

I enjoyed watching him at the BU's and wish he had stayed another few seasons.

How are we feeling, Rose fans? Confident of a title-winning season?

Optimistic and delighted to see us get our business done early. I can’t remember having a squad sorted out this early since Jim Sinnet when he came in towards the end of the season.

Some good young talent there, can get behind that but there’s some great teams in this league so we need to hit the ground running.

Can see Jeanfield and HOB up there as well this year. Penicuik but they have a bit of a rebuild to go through.

More confident after seeing how quickly we have went about adding to and securing our current squad.

Last year was about building foundations again after recent seasons, in winning 2 cups, we have exceeded expectations.

Roll on 2022/23

Owen Andrew is a cracking goalscorer. He'll rattle them in if he gets the service.

Always remember him being spoken about when he was a young lad at Kelty, was excited when he signed for Clyde but he couldn't get a look in, when he did he was often played out wide. Barely seen the laddie manage a shot on target all season. Unfortunately we weren't in a position where we could experiment a bit (although you'd think anyone would have been a better option than Rob Jones).

Hopefully he gets a good run of games and starts banging them in.

Dan Baur and Lewis Payne sign for Hill of Beath. Payne always going to be a squad player so see why he wants to go. Baur is awful. Never seen a footballer so uncomfortable with ball at his feet. 6 foot 6 and can't jump.

not surprised to see another few players moved on, squad looking bulky and players need to play. fingers crossed selling to team in same league doesn’t come back to bite us

Herd has moved on the right players and 2 more to go.

That will leave a squad of 21 .

McMullan, McKenzie and Thomson all sign contract extensions 👍.

Halloren has left. Always looked like there was a player in there but never quite worked out for him.

Intend buying a season ticket this year. Are there specific nights they go on sale, or can you just turn up at club anytime ?

3-0 McKenzie, Thom and Stowe

And the miss of the century from Sneddon.

Good to see a young Whyte come on for his debut.

Good question on the FB page. Before today who were the last father and son to play for the Rose ?

Alan and Finnie Fowler and both regularly attend games.

Also Eric and Derek Sinclair as well.
