First of all though we need to calm down. We need to get Pat Sauchie until we start talking about Creetown. Can’t see Sauchie losing a game so we need four points first! 🌹

Good step towards it last night. Not the best performance but always looked in control and result was about right. Tynecastle had 2 or 3 good players and were pretty decent but a bit "lightweight" 😂 up front

This Scotsman article from a few days ago says

"As it stands, Rose would compete in a two-legged play-off with South of Scotland leaders Creetown – currently going through the process to obtain their SFA license – for a place in the fifth tier, as current West of Scotland leaders Beith, are an unlicensed club.".

The LL league rules for what they are worth state the licence has to have been obtained by 31st of March unless the team have been granted a waiver. So possibly they may have been granted a waiver and the door is still open.

The lack of transparency is making a further mockery of an already broken pyramid system.

A pyramid system which isn't fluid and has to many separate parts SPFL / LL / EOS, WOS, SOS etc etc each trying to fend off the league below.

Creetown completed their application before deadline, which has been approved and are eligible to play in a playoff.

If Creetown win league play off (EoS v SoS) dates are 20th May home and 27th May away.

If Darvel or Talbot win then EoS winner would play South Winner at home on 20th and West winner away on 27th May.

As a matter of interest what's the source on the above about the application before the deadline and potential dates ? I see Creetown dropped points the other night meaning Abbey Vale are still in the mix for winning SoS also and they would be ineligable.

The Rose secretary posted it on fans FB page last night.

Seems a bit unfair that the EoS team would be away to the WoS team again, repeating last year. Should it not alternate?   Happy to see that this might not be required this year but the principal still applies…

An unlicensed Beith win at home v Troon tomorrow would almost finish off Darvel and Talbot league challenge.

They all agreed on a "cycle" a few seasons ago, it works out long term but it was never going to be perfect

Don't know for sure if these are the latest rules on the play offs, but it's just a random draw each year for home and away

https://slfl.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/slfl-rules-v20.pdf

2.1 Three Qualifying Clubs
a) There will be a Play-Off Round Robin organised by the SLFL to determine, subject to these rules, which club
shall be promoted to the SLFL. The champions of the EoSFL, SoSFL and WoSFL will contest the round robin.
b) The round robin shall be played on a home or away principle, with each club playing one home game and
one away game, which club plays what opponent at home and what away being decided by a random draw
supervised by the SLFL Board. Three points for a win and one point for a draw. Where a match is drawn it
will be followed by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark as defined by International FA Board rules, the
winner receiving a further one point. At the end of the competition the club with the highest points total
will be declared winners of the round robin , and, subject to eligibility, will be promoted to the SLFL.

They set up a cycle for the Cup Winners Shield since it's guaranteed there will be 3 winners each season.

Although I don't think they've actually stuck to it since they seem to just slot the games in where they can in their respective calendars.
