They'll be in the Rothes/Locos/Formartine group of 5th to 8th They beat East Fife 2-1, Broch 2-1, Locos 2-0, Formartine 4-1 and Buckie on penalties last season. Cup games aren't the same as the league though and I expect they'll take a season to settle in like Brechin. Top 4 finish.
gm_1982
Buckie appear to be going down the route of having a small squad with excellent players, meaning they'll tear everyone a new arsehole until injuries occur. The Broch have lost a couple of boys and didn't exactly have excess bodies about the place to start with so will be needing everyone to step up a bit, including the kids they've given time to in the Premier Sports Cup group. Brora, who knows. Legit signing a new goalkeeper instead of finding a second one on loan again just in case could be a sign Uncle Joe Malin is about done, and if he is they won't win the league. Brechin should do find this season if they can keep up with Buckie into the new year. I'd say that's the two contenders, with Brora slipping back into the Locos/Formartine/Rothes mess, with Fraserburgh capable of being in either group. Who have the Broch lost out of interest?

Triallist whilst not really tested did everything right I am concerned that Andy thinks Ian Davidson is a better midfielder than Fraser McLeod. Also on Spartans showing I am not confident. We had five at back and five up top - long balls just cobbled up by defence. Midfield none existent despite Seth being our best player. We have loads of defenders, nearly half the squad. We have a tough start to the season, sure Fraserburgh had no hand in us being at home to Buckie then making us travel to them in midweek. If we don't hit the ground running the season could be over pretty quickly. But if we do........ haha This may be controversial but I think Davidson hasn't been bad in midfield. McLeod looks raw and think he will take some time to get into the team.

He offers absolutely nothing.

Yes you have to play them at some point but injuries / bookings may kick in as you progress through the fixtures. The most other clubs have are two in a row. On the up side win them all and everyone is chasing. -

Looking at their numbers for last season, Campbell will be a serious loss, he started 32 of 34 league games and was a solid performer all season. The other pair (Cairns and Harris) only managed a dozen starts between them but were handy subs, Harris in particular.

Rossco8326
Looking forward to the season starting tomorrow. Can we still play trilists ? Unless we have a keeper signed up before tomorrow
Jimmy Shaker
Trialists can take part in the league season. Same rules as SPFL clubs, IIRC. Three games then they’ve to sign or leave.

RiverCity
Looking forward to the new season ,new signings look good with a few local lads too.Hoping Grady McGrath will be our new Ken Eadie and score loads of goals like his ambition of wanting to finish with the golden boot. Mon the City.
Ivo den Bieman
Tough start against Rothes who should have won at Glebe Park last season (denied by a very late free kick from Max Kucheriavyi) and who I expect will be one of the stronger sides- perhaps even an outsider in the title race- again this season.
Rector
Hmmmmm. Should have been out of sight by half-time. Some encouraging performances (Patrick, Macleod, Scott); some very worrying ones (McGrath, all the defence). Rothes looked well off the pace, which makes City’s failure to convert more than one of the dozen chances they had even more concerning.

RiverCity
Promising start yesterday. Some good football played just need to take our chances although the Rothes keeper had four or five good saves.Team looks better without Davidson.Patrick and MacLeod really good in midfield just wish Patrick would make more of his driving runs .Defence looks more solid this season with the addition of Spark and Wilson.Hopefully McGrath will score soon so he won’t start to panic in front of goal. Some really good additions to the squad this year.My MOM was MacLeod thought he was excellent.
