The NCL will feature teams from the Highland area. The new Midland league will feature teams from Dundee, Angus and Perthshire. All 3 will feed into the Highland League.

Yep, and the chances of Golspie beating BOD is absolute zero. Edit - BOD regularly pump HL teams in the Scottish Cup. They beat LL and EOS teams before losing 2-1 to Fraserburgh last time around. Beat Golspie and Forres the year before. Huntly and Linlithgow in 17-18. Golspie, Keith, but lost to Formartine in a replay in 16-17. Incidentally that website's rankings would put BOD 3rd in the HL and Brechin in 7th. They actually gained ranking points from the play-off games because they were ranked so far down and Kelty only beat them by a goal each time

Premature senior moment. ... anyway, I wonder when we'll hear any news about the Michael Paton's intentions for the summer ahead. He's bound to know soon enough whether he wants to stay or go and I struggle to see how he can stay from just a logistical perspective. Is there a Forfarshire Cup still in existence for Brechin to play in while the rest are in the Shire Cup and Shield, and North of Scotland Cup?

We battered them for most of the game but couldn't score, they were a resilient bunch. BOD are presumably better than Golspie but I'm not sure they're better than Lochee, Carnoustie or Broughty, and they might have time to get licensed.

Make of that what you will. eta: St Johnstone could win a treble here if they get their arse into gear. BOD beat Carnoustie on penalties in the Tayside/North inter-regional trophy before the lockdown (Lochee needed penalties to beat Banchory). I think it's fairly close between BOD and Tayside - they are all together in the "North" rankings http://scotscores.theroonba.com/clubrank/clubranknnon.html 1 hour ago, Gordon EF said: Interesting to look at but you have to question the methodology when Clyde are above East Fife and they haven't finished above us in the league for over a decade. Well it's weighted to more recent results and the only reason Clyde are above EF is because of the last match where they swapped positions! Doesn't seem too inaccurate given you've finished 2 places apart in the last two seasons. It also includes cup games, plus it depends on how much you win/lose by and the relative strength of the opposition. Just need some more inter-league games to see where the non-league clubs are really at. Edited May 25, 2021 by Ginaro

I wouldn't put too much stock in inter-league rankings, as you say. It does look like it pretty significantly favours teams in weaker leagues who win a lot of games.

Andy groundhopper
There looks some decent grounds in the HL, anything around 100 miles ain't too bad a journey is it. Go on Brechin, try and take 100 to away games to create an atmosphere, could be a brilliant season eh. Plenty more clubs scared stiff of being relegated, but they will be ! Hopefully the crowds hold up and you enjoy the games.
