Alan? Who’s that?

Full of drink? rarely touch alcohol if that’s what you are referring to?

I presume the missing answer is ‘no, Stenny have never won a league trophy, you are correct Al, we are the diddiest of the diddies’.

OK Alan. Calm down.

Wasting your time with that one. Just ignore.

Very bitchy. Not like you at all.

Yeah I know he’s the village idiot.

No need for that Alan. Quite hurtful.

Another way of looking at that is that being in the HL and LL isn't the end of the world and not as different from following a club in League 2 as some people seem to think.

I would take that a stage further and say every part time side in the country  could face this if they take their eye off the ball.Stirling,Cowden and Brechin have all been in the championship in the last decade with Dumbarton fighting to stay in league 1.It doesn,t take long for a good side to be dismantled. The sides from the LL and HL are well financed  with the bigger junior sides on the way also.Lets face it the Shire and Berwick are not showing any signs of getting back.

Of the 19 clubs in the SPFL who are or have been predominantly part-time over the past 10 years, only 2 of them have not finished in the bottom four spots of the SPFL at some point since the four league structure came in - that's Cove Rangers and Peterhead.

10 of the 19 have finished dead last at least once (Arbroath, Queen's Park, Cowdenbeath, Albion Rovers, Montrose, Dumbarton, Brechin, Elgin, Forfar, Clyde). And that's with Shire continually stinking up the bottom spot for extended periods of time.

No part time team should assume they'll never be in a relegation scrap from League 2 at some point, especially as the league should only get stronger over the coming years.

Or league 1!

Yeah, that's what I mean. None of the 19 or so part time teams should think they won't find themselves near the bottom of league 2 at some point over the next decade or two, no matter where they're sitting right now.

Did Jim Moffat's shambolic team from about fifteen-sixteen years ago not just get kept from bottom spot by the Shire? (making your point your point of course, just can't remember)

They were shambolic but not quite. Our worst finish under Moffat was 8th in 04/05. 16 points ahead of Shire in 10th and 4 points ahead of Albion Rovers in 9th. Our worst season in recent memory was 2000/01 where we finished 8th on 40 points, only 5 clear of Queen's Park in 10th. But the point stands. If relegation had been a thing back then, we'd definitely have had a worrying season or two.

I’ve tried to warn you guys for a couple of seasons now on how pish our once proud team are and how bad the club is run.I take no great delight that I have been proven correct.Once we get relegated we will find it hard to bounce back up.It’s a sad day that the town of Brechin will have not semi professional team now.Goodbye Brechin City.

You’ve still got us twice. Beat us on Tuesday and it’s game on. It’s not over yet.

We cannt beat an egg. Yous are save.

It has been poor decisions for the last 4 /5 years. Managers are appointed in good faith but it is they who have but squads that are incapable. Dodds should have be binned around Christmas time, Smith should have gone at the end of the relegation season. So when several decisions that are poor line up this is where we end up.

Equally the same committee appointed Dick Campbell. M O'Neil, Ray Mckinnon and others before that that brought relative success. Like others we were due a few poor decisions but never thought it might get this bad!

We deserve to be in the play offs and then who knows but if we cannt defend, work a midfield or have a striker then we have nothing. Oh and the experienced guys, for my money have offrerd bugger all.

Everyone seems to be assuming that it is a forgone conclusion that Brechin would lose the play off (If it goes ahead), but given last nights result it seems that there is a bit of fight left in them.

Posts that don’t age well. 🤦‍♂️

Gotta agree with you here it’s not just this season or last season that’s caused us to be club 42 it’s 5 years of poor decision making at the top that have led us to this.Does anyone known what will happen to the incorporation if we get relegated ?
