HibeeJibee
I see on club twitters that as well as the South Challenge Cup - which has appeared online - the Southern Counties, South of Scotland League, Potts and Tweedie cups were also drawn on Thursday. Anyone got the draws?

HibeeJibee
Thanks. I see neither Bonnyton nor Edusport's reserves entered the Potts or Tweedie cups, and Dalbeattie are playing in the Potts Cup.

My guess is Edu simply wanted competitive game time for more of their ’students’ with the size of overall squad they will have nowadays and League duty fulfils that . Perhaps Bonnyton want to concentrate on challenging for the title and Dalbeattie simply asked to play in one of the South Cups for whatever reason - possibly to give some of their younger lads valuable experience
HibeeJibee
Aye, it's always a bit fluid down there - Edusport contested the Haig Gordon this season and QotS often have. Threave entered some 'extras' while in LL. If many ties would be midweek perhaps Bonnyton and Edusport reserves didn't fancy the travelling being Ayrshire/Lanarkshire-based.

There are plans to have quite a few midweek fixtures early in the campaign and for those with floodlights they may continue after the initial month or two ! That certainly would’ve played a part in the thinking of both Clubs undoubtedly
Kicker Conspiracy
Did either of the Potts or Tweedie cups run this season just finished (2018-19)?

No , due to fixture back log the previous Season 2017-18 it was agreed they would omit two of the locally contested Cups and play them on a biannual basis ! As the match cancellations fell by almost 50% last year it was decided there would be far more midweek games in the initial part of the 2019-20 campaign to combat this therefore allowing the reintroduction of all South Cups to the calendar
