buchan30
What happens in that case regarding their fixtures? Relegation/promotion? Does everyone have two free saturdays over the course of the season? It’s too late to jiggle things and go promoting sides etc.
mizfit
I presume only 3 sides would be relegated in League 2 and next season would still have 4 promotion places. National league presumably top 2 are promoted and the playoffs are between 3rd & 7th. AFC Bury to begin life in the greater Manchester amateurs.

Only 3 sides will be relegated to League 2, from League 2 only 1 side will be relegated. I'm not entirely sure if the same will be done in the leagues below, but that depends on those leagues' regulations (and where AFC Bury will start) obviously.
NorthernLights
Bolton now postponing a game on Tuesday due to player welfare concerns... Quote Bolton Wanderers have postponed Tuesday's League One match against Doncaster Rovers, amid welfare concerns for the young players in their squad. Wanderers have been in administration since May. They were only able to field three senior outfield players for Saturday's 5-0 loss to Tranmere Rovers. "Whilst the threat of further sanctions is obvious, nothing can be allowed to impact on the welfare of such a young group," a club statement said. "With so many senior players injured or unavailable, the squad has performed heroically." Manager Phil Parkinson said after the Tranmere defeat he had contacted the English Football League to voice his concerns about player welfare. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49399958

vikingTON
Since when did Bolton have the authority to postpone a league game? They should be kicked out of the league for that nonsense as well. What an absolute tinpot setup.

They still have not received a punishment for failing to fulfil a fixture at the end of last season, that case is still pending. This one will get added to it. Probably another hefty points deduction. They'll be relegated by Christmas at this rate (if they're still around by then).

Have some faith in Magic
What a farce, kick them both out now. Given the amount of fixtures in they league Bury will be playing just about every midweek. It's also unfair on the other teams.
Marten
Bolton going on about the young team they have and it's not fair on them... They don't even have the youngest team in the division, that's Wimbledon! There must me more to it than just that!

WALMOT
4 hours ago, NorthernLights said: Bury game this Saturday has been postponed and takes their number of postponements for the season up to 6. The owner has turned down a bid for the club and the Friday deadline the EFL set is fast approaching. From the BBC football website:- Bury's match against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday has become the Shakers' sixth game to be suspended, while Steve Dale has rejected an offer to buy the club. Bury, who could be expelled from the English Football League on Friday, have also been removed from the Carabao Cup. The EFL has said it is "frustrated at the lack of progress" made as it seeks evidence that Bury can pay creditors and have funding for the season ahead. Meanwhile, owner Dale is believed to have refused a new offer for the club. Former Port Vale chairman Norman Smurthwaite was behind the bid and it is understood the deal would have secured the survival of the League One outfit, but Dale believes he can get a better offer. Smurthwaite spent almost seven years involved with Vale before selling the League Two club in the summer. The EFL have also confirmed that if Bury are expelled, the League One season will be completed with 23 teams, with the number of relegation places reduced to three. It added that it remains in "regular communication" with Dale but that "if a solution is not found by the deadline, the board will authorise the necessary share transfer on behalf of Bury FC which shall be legally binding on all parties and result, regretfully, in the club no longer being a member of the League". If Bury are removed from the league, the EFL says the club "would then be free to make an application to the Football Association to rejoin league competition further down the English football pyramid from season 2020-21". Bury staff issued a statement on 12 August which "implored" Dale to accept an offer for the club, who are yet to play a competitive fixture this season. They have had five successive League One fixtures suspended, while their withdrawal from the Carabao Cup means Sheffield Wednesday have received a bye to the second round, when they will play Rotherham United. The 134-year-old Shakers have already been given a 12-point deduction for the season after entering into a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) - which is classed as an insolvency event by the EFL - to try to clear some of their debts. Bury saw a winding-up petition against them dismissed by the High Court on 31 July, while Dale claimed the EFL was "working against" them.
