Fair play and standing up to them but You will wait a while for the apology and no doubt the publications friends within the archaic SJFA will look dimly on this statement and hit you with some form of draconian sanctions.

That was also my thought. Although it's fully understandable to defend the honour of the club, it is a risk given that the Association and the named publication are such close bed fellows. Hopefully not.

The club are inviting offers for midfielder Gavin Mackie who has been placed on the transfer list.

Very promising start from Gavin and a shame that it hasn't worked out as he's a fine player on his day!

Just watched the highlights from the Largs match and Glens looked to be unlucky to miss out on a victory...perhaps this new team shape will provide a more solid foundation and now just need our strikers to hit a bit of form!

Yes, I felt we had the better chances in the game (Smith and McRobbie in particular), while Spyder only really had two long distance efforts in the first half to save. Largs pressurised near the end but again didn't force Spyder into making a save in the second half.

I'd say a draw was a fair result though.

Glencairn manager Willie Harvey has moved to strengthen his options for the second half of the season with the signing of midfielders Lee Cochrane and Drew Wingate.

Cochrane, who turns 26 next week, has previously had contracts at Rangers and Queen's Park, as well as junior experience with Johnstone Burgh, Auchinleck Talbot, Renfrew and Ashfield. Lee has featured as a trialist substitute in The Glens' last three matches, scoring against Beith Juniors. He has also played in two friendly matches, scoring once.

Wingate (age 27) started his career with a contract at Stenhousemuir, before moving to America in the summer of 2011 where he continued playing. Since returning to Scotland, Drew has been playing for Kilsyth Rangers for the past year and a half. Drew joins the club as part of a swap deal which sees midfielder Gavin Mackie moving to Kilsyth Rangers.Lee%20Cochrane.jpegIMG_20200114_143220.jpeg

Hows ur pitch with all this bad weather were getting?

Mon the papers

We were off last Saturday along with most matches on grass.

It's way too early to say what the prospects are for this coming Saturday.

And at long last a league win after five months. [emoji16]

That's us at the halfway point of our league season now, and hopefully that's a turning point for us as well. We stuck with the team shape that we used at Largs in our last game and again we looked much more solid defensively.

It's only one result, though, and we have a couple of easy games up next against Pollok and Auchinleck Talbot. [emoji849][emoji23]

Anyhow, for now we'll enjoy our Saturday night for the first time in a while. [emoji846]

Fair play to you . you were pretty solid at the back so congrats on the win .... it didn't help our keeper making a real howler imo for the goal from the free kick ... park was pretty bobbly and cut up in places and we struggled a bit with that.... think we really need a striker aswell... nice to see you guys having a firm stance on the racism issue and reading out the statement.... well done.

You've got a very good addition in Drew Wingate and saw he scored today. He'll help with shoring up and driving your midfield.
Excellent debut from Drew, especially as I understand that he hadn't played for a couple of months. To last 90 minutes and get himself into the opposition 6-yard box on a breakaway for the 84th minute winner showed a good level of fitness.

It was the right thing to do, we had to make it crystal clear that we won't tolerate anything like that.
