Congrats also to the worst predictor, @Bluenortherner, whose gallant decision to put QoS as league winners helped him to a mighty 32 points.

Let's hope we have an actual season going by the end of the year to actually make new predictions on.

1. United - Too much money to not, eventually, pay off at this level. Having Dundee to compete with will force them up a level.

2. Morton - Hopkin to do Hopkin things. Ability to grind out points will drive them above the rest.

3. ICT - Robertson the sole reason, does what's needed to get results.

4. Dundee - McPake the huge issue, and his errors through inexperience will drop them below two teams who wont drop silly points.

5. Ayr - Big task to replace Shankland but should have enough to keep themselves safe.

6. Alloa - Battle hardened team with a manager they trust, when it comes to it, they'll dig in.

7. QOS - Dobbie and a manager who'll actually set up to attack teams should be a good mix, the rest of the team wont help push them beyond this though.

9. Dunfermline - A bad feeling about rookie manager + McNamara + rookie players.

10. Arbroath - Dont know enough about them, so purely here due to being part time, no disrespect intended at all.

Dundee Utd should be winning it quite comfortable with the squad they’ve got - even though Neilson likely won’t have a clue how to get the best out of them. Inverness should benefit from consistency so I think they’ll be up there, as Dundee should be too but McPake is an unknown so it’s hard to call.

Thistle and Dunfermline have made some good signings however their managers are unproven/dumplings/both so I don’t think there’ll be a title challenge there.

Felt like I could have put 6-10 in any order really. After today’s debacle I was tempted to put Ayr bottom but I decided to restrain myself.

All in all I don’t think there’s going to be many great teams. Looks set to be another wonderful season of everyone trying to out-shit one another.

Although clearly I wildly overestimated Thistle (oh dear how sad never mind etc) while grossly underestimating Arbroath and ourselves.

Many thought we’d turned the corner under Caldwell in the second half of last season. I think we had the 3rd best form in the league from January to May and people just assumed that would carry over into the following season.

Turns out it was more to do with Scott McDonald and Steven Anderson signing on loan than Gary Caldwell suddenly not being a dud.

Meh, my prediction was absolutely guff minus the ICT and Dundee United parts. I would have snatched your hand off for 8th place at the start of the season. Think we have overachieved, but I definitely underestimated just how good Nisbet was when he signed.

Fate! Which is inexorable. Or more prosaically, because I've been visiting my mate who's a Queens fan regularly over the last few years, and go to games with him. Some of which, though not recently clearly, have been very enjoyable. And I have now moved to QOS-land, so will doubtless be attending more in future. Palmerston's a lot easier to get to than Rugby Park from Moffat.
