In many ways it was reminiscent of last season. First half we had a lot of the ball but struggled to create chances. Peterhead were content to sit in and absorb pressure and try and hit on the counter. White had our best chance of the half when he pulled a shot across goal / it was palmed away by Flemming.

Second half and Peterhead were all over us. Our best two chances of the second half came from a Vincent header off the post and a White effort clawed away by Flemming. A truly stunning save (think Mikey Fraser v Celtic). Apart from that the home side dominated and should have been out of sight long before the penalty shoot out. Jamie Stevenson and Aidan Smith seemed to be getting a lot of space on their respective flanks and it was disappointing to see how easily Peterhead were able to create space for themselves in the box or drop a ball in behind our full backs to get a cross in. We looked all over the place defensively and it was only thanks to Ridgers that we went to spot kicks.

Neither keeper got near the penalties until Flemming thought he had saved Traffords effort but as he got up to start celebrating the ball fell back down from the bar and spun over the line  Ultimately it came down to the keepers and Ridgers sadly sliced his effort off target before Flemming bagged the bonus point.

Not really much to be impressed by from an ICT PoV. Looks like a change of formation is on the cards with a 4-4-2 / 4-4-1-1 played last night. Our only real change throughout the game was to swap Curry and Walsh. Hard to ignore the obvious Polworth shaped hole in our team at the moment.

It certainly was a game of two halves with us controlling the first and the Blue Toon getting a few half chances but failing to convert, but feck me the difference right at the start of the second was a shock as they came out fighting  as if they'd had scotch bonnets rammed up their holes and they were were wired and we absolutely struggled to contain them, and if it wasn't for some heroic saves by Ridgers  we would have been down three or four, we really have to contain this type of enthusiasm if we want to progress further.

Truth be told we were second best to nearly every high ball that came in in that second half, bit of a shambles really and they deserved that win.

Todorov for Keatings was a surprise, McGregor worked hard but was played out of the game at times, Trafford did well throughout, and what is Vincent all about with gobbing off to players to get them to take up positions etc, way over the top and he needs to pay more attention to his game and not others.

Felt sorry for Ridgers and it was ironic that he missed the penalty as if it wasn't for him we would have been easily out of the game well before the final whistle.

Surprised to see people smoking in the ground, even before the game a couple were smoking below the stairs to the main stand with stewards behind them, a thing you never see nowadays.

Absolutely delighted with this. The whole set up was very relaxed. My wee girl spent the first half doing cartwheels on the grassy hill and the second climbing around advertising hoardings. Great to change ends at half-time and not feel the need to stay rooted next to a plastic seat while being gawped at by stewards.

Apart from the enclosed area,s we have allowed smokers around the ground without much problem. Hopefully wont be too much need for segregation either this season but would depend on supporters being sensible can only think of the Clyde hamburger incident spoiling it last year.

I've put £9.91 (The remaining balance in my Ladbrokes account) on Celtic, Dundee, St Mirren, Dunfermline & Arbroath tonight. Shite odds, but least it'll keep me interested.

Without knowing the teams, there's no way you could know the difference. Dundee been terrible. Not liking McPake's man management skills either..."Neller, what the f..k was that about?"

Some players need a boot and others need a cuddle. Twill be forever thus.
