I’m not suggesting he’s not a hard worker, and you might know better, but he seems a natural goal scorer and someone who could assist him in that respect is what we need.

Aye you are spot on there.  Kind of wht I was meaning.  Moffat was perfect for Shanks - Shanks did far more running but Moff was the 'clever' player, and when Shanks then got back into the box he was deadly (until January but im blaming the injury for that).

4 mins 50 in to this from Ross County away shows how well Smith and Shankland could link up btw.

Neilson suggesting in Dumbarton post match interview that Appere has played himself into the first team fold. I'd like to see him and Banks getting a shot in competitive games, dev squad or loans for the rest.

I don’t see any way Shankland - Sow works at all.

Clark, maybe.
Smith, maybe.

For one (or at least part of one) of the League Cup games I would like to see Appere alongside Shankland.  Ideally when we’re already ahead, don’t want too much pressure on the lad.

Appreciate you may not have seen much of him given his only "first team" matches were in the Joke Cup, but we look set to sign Mati Zata after his match winning goal against you guys on Saturday.  Anyone seen him play more than that and have an opinion on him?

He was supposed to be a good prospect and we signed him from the rangers.

Apart from that 💁‍♂️💁‍♂️💁‍♂️

Haven't seen him live, but a lota Gers supporters talked very highly of him, he scored a heap of goals for them (not sure what level that was at) his 1st season at Ibrox. [emoji106]

Cheers guys, thought this would be the extent of the knowledge on him! Hopefully he turns out well enough, we need at least one of our 14 gamble signings to pay off this summer.

Certainly was more than good enough for Tayport.
Apere was easily Broughtys best player when the 2 teams squared of towards the end of the season.

On another note have utd retained Kieran Inglis who was also on loan at Tayport ?

Does anybody have info on how the campaign for the Jim McLean statue is progressing ?

It has raised £35,000 so halfway there. Only 600 or so donations though, which given average gates and the overall fan base it is a pretty low number.

Edit - the 600 number doesn’t include offline donations to be fair so that number will be higher.

Just had a text from a mate saying we're 100% in for May.

If true, it's looking like big Sow could be surplus. In terms of bringing another striker in, I see Dundee are being linked with Cummings. Although he's a fruiter, I think I'd prefer him to Stevie May.

Sorry if this has been mentioned but I was told this morning by someone with Ayr Utd that Shankland is on £5k a week at Tannandice.

Surely that can’t be right? Do you think the total of his deal, including a signing on fee, is possibly high enough that the first year makes him £250k and they’ve just worked the figure back from that?
