AUcal
we don'tIf he is confident he will score goals. He has the ability to make space for himself and is surprisingly good win ball at his feet. Like most strikers, having a creative partner up top with him was a huge part of his success imo.
101
Shankland is an intresting one his goal break down per team last season in the championship should be good reading for Dundee United fans and thats about it: Partick 2 goals ICT 1 goal Dunfermline 1 goal Queens 1 goal Falkirk 1 goal Alloa 6 goals Morton 3 goals Dundee United 5 goals Ross County 4 goals Shankland also failed to score in the Premiership Play offs and the Scottish Cup. Im not sure its prudent to pay crazy money for him when Clark when played in the right team is probably about as good as him, especially when your new owner came in he said he wants to make a profit, splashing this kind of cash on a player who is untested in the Premiership is playing with fire. It will either come good or massivley backfire.
dundeeunited83
we don'tI’d say Clark is very similar to Moffat tbh

Shandon Par
Alongside Moffat, El Bak scored 30 from open play in a season. Last (without Moffat) season he scored 1 penalty and none from open play. Hopefully Shankland doesn't suffer the same downturn as that wouldn't be funny for anyone.

DeeTillEhDeh
[emoji38] Got to hand it to United's coaches et al. Got the fans dancing to their tune. Reminds me of Melville when he was at Dens. It has that feel to it - we thought with the Harkins/Griffiths signings that we would walk the league. How wrong we were.

If we swap Falkirk for Arbroath and Dundee United for Dundee I will be happy with that for the coming season.

Aladdin
If the signing is concluded, he'll either be class or we'll be saddled with the new Lee Miller. I think most United fans have come to terms with these extremes recently, with most of our signings turning out to be utter dross.Anyway, an attacking midfielder and we're about ready to go.

Alert Mongoose
I notice with interest that McBookie are now offering a special on us to qualify for the UEFA group stages in the next three years. Priced at 5/1 if anyone is looking for a long term investment.
Aufc
We refused to pay his club more than half of what you've apparently offered as a signing on fee. We never got to speak to the player. By all accounts though, he was set to tell us to f**k off.Apparently
Hawk
How long until Clark spits oot the dummy at being on the bench?
P475
Shankland is a jobber. You’d better hope you have a professional, unselfish player like the Moff to help him out, or you’ll quickly discover you’ve signed a total jobber.

Don’t think people realise how important Moffat was to the success of Shankland, Clark, Faissal. I’m pretty confident that whoever we sign to play upfront now will score a reasonable amount of goals playing with Moffat.
