First Round

North

  • Pot A: Cove Rangers, Brora Rangers, Fraserburgh, Formartine Utd, Elgin City, Albion Rovers.
  • Pot B: Aberdeen C, Hibernian C, Hearts C, St Johnstone C, Livingston C, Ross County C.

South

  • Pot A: East Kilbride, BSC Glasgow, Kelty Hearts, Spartans, Queen's Park, Berwick Rangers.
  • Pot B: Celtic C, Rangers C, Kilmarnock C, Motherwell C, Hamilton C, St Mirren C.

How does this work then, guaranteed to play a colts side but are the seeded clubs all at home or is there another pot to draw home or away?

Will the draw be televised?

That's some distance the North region is covering. Brora and Coatbidge are barely in the same hemisphere.

It used to be N/E and S/W. With the teams they have, it’s probably the best split they could manage... although a swap with Kelty might have been better

Geographically yes, but placing a LL outfit in the North section would have been pretty farcical aesthetically also, and that’s before you even get to the unbalancing of non-league/league teams that would cause.

It’s the best split they could do, someone’s always going to be the Dumbarton in the North ain’t they.

If it is based on last year it will probs be:-

Solihull Moors 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Wrexham 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 *
The New Saints 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
Connah’s Quay Nomads 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
Linfield [emoji636]
Ballymena United [emoji636]
Waterford [emoji1132]
Bohemians [emoji1132]

*Wrexham are a Welsh team that plays in the English league setup.

Those are funny looking N. Ireland flags.

No N. Ireland flag emojis unfortunately so had to use the Union Jack instead.

That raises my hopes for 8 boys' teams going out to LL and HL sides.  Come on the 5th tier.

Presumably they've seeded that by the main stadiums of the 'B' teams. Rangers have normally used Forthbank in Stirling which is further north than Livingston or venues Hearts and Hibs have used.

Also looks like they've specifically allocated pair of last season's SPFL2 clubs to each half - Kelty and BSC Glasgow (unless someone at SPFL HQ thinks they play in Glasgow not Alloa) are both further north than Coatbridge.

I'd be surprised if they make the 'B' teams play away. Reduces their chance of winning and emphasises poor crowds... Perhaps it'll be a random draw for each tie or it'll alternate every tie.

They probably don't want to put LL sides in the North section
