Not read the full thread, but it’s hardly a surprise that league presentation hasn’t been handled well.

Years ago when Lok won the league the trophy was to be presented at Dunterlie. They presented it 30 minutes before kick off before most supporters were in the ground.

Cant recall what season it was, may have been the first year of West as we had to wait for Neilston to play their last game before we officially won it and our league season was over, or may have been at the end of central leagues.

Either way, wasn’t handled well back then, so it’s now new.

Yes remember that-pretty sure it was the first West Premier season and I missed the presentation along with most other Lok fans!!

Totally amatuer....seen many a youth tournaments with literallly a hundred odd boys and girls get a medal just for turning up. The  organisers still know the right thing to do is to take whatever time is needed and present them all with the medals individually in front of whoever is present. It gives recognition to any sponsors, recognition to the players and coaches, promotes sportmanship and the game in general.

This excuse that they may have played trialists in the last game is exactly that, an excuse. You're not telling me that even if the whole 11 that started were the youth team. That the players thathad played 30+ games all season were not going to be there at the last league game watching and supporting as part of a Team. Or are we saying that for players in successful league winning teams, that if they are not selected on the day they dont even bother to turn up and watch there team.

I know the club are playing it down and have said in the past they have handed them out later at the club presentation night. But I think even that approach denies the palyers and coaches the proper recogniction for there efforts. As with most professional leagues the winners presentation should be public with as high a profile as possible. How else can the SJFA promote the league and teams within it.

Look at Nocknosh trying to keep the negativity floating about. Silly old hector.

Yup. Hopefully though,General Scotty, having initially been described as being less amused than Queen Victoria, has rediscovered the wacky sense of humour that made his fixture lists a must read for so many, and we are able to finally wrap up this unfortunate event.

After all,as history has shown us,things rarely end well for Generals* who seek to inflict public punishments.

*See General Patton/Sicily and General Custer/Little Bighorn. :)

Good attempt at trolling but It's Tom Johnstone that brings them
