Hopefully not. Apparently Kurtis Roberts is done so might as well get that announced today.

Roberts was a decent player at QP and Airdrie from what I recall. He seems to have split the support at Stirling though. Some calling him rubbish, some saying he was onto a thankless task. Again, on paper, he’d be an improvement over some of the jobbers we had last season.

Yeah, I'm not sure performances last year at Stirling are anything to go by considering their various struggles so if it is announced we've signed him I'll be quite open minded.

Unusually and suspiciously positive start to the days proceedings.

Kurtis Roberts was very good for us, I think the only real reason he left us was that Stuart Millar (our director of football at the time) publicly criticised him for his fitness.

He'd be a decent signing for Clyde and would definitely improve your midfield. He was used as a creative midfielder and also box to box for us too.

Only thing is, I have no idea how he got on at Stirling.

What are the thoughts on the midfield so far then? If Gomis is signed up, it gives us Grant, Gomis and Roberts in the central area. Possibly Cunningham if he was playing centrally in behind the forwards. I can’t remember an awful lot about Roberts but he does seem to come with a decent reputation from his previous clubs. Personally, I don’t really see the need for Gomis and Grant in the same midfield, but I do think we look a bit better in the middle than last year, thus far.

Neither Cuddihy or Splaine are signed up but given Cuddihy is rarely used as a central midfielder, I’d probably discount him from the discussion. I’d like to see Splaine given the upturn in his performances but his appearances on the SPFA Player Availability list suggests he’s probably holding out for an offer elsewhere. Could Roberts possibly have been brought in to replace him? I’d, of course, love to see a Dylan Easton type brought in but players like him don’t exactly come cheap, nor readily. It’s refreshing not to have to even consider Nicoll.

Again, I don’t know much about Duthie and he’s a fairly underwhelming signing. It sounds like he’ll have a bit more about him the Andrews or Mortimer etc. I’m assuming we’ll be playing him as a winger but maybe Danny will surprise us. By being fast, he’s probably more useful to us than Ally Love was last year as his end product was incredibly frustrating too.

Livingstone rumoured to be off as well so we may well be on the lookout for another wide midfielder too. I’ve never exactly known us to be a team have played with exciting wingers over the past twenty or so years so I’m interested to see who could come in.

Is Kurtis Roberts an attacking CM or defensive like Gomis and Grant

Going by reports and stats perhaps the latter but could be wrong

Maybe settimg up different next season with holding midfielders & wingers

Really not got a clue about any of three new players today to be honest and fresh start for all concerned not a bd thing

Definitely not defensive. Box to box or attacking midfield. Similar in some ways to Splaine in the positions he can take up, he'll go past a player and do a lot of running.

I'd have taken him after leaving QP or Airdrie. He has always played well against Clyde.

I'm not bothered about Gomis staying, I think he will bring a bit of balance. I think he will be better with more legs around him than he had last year.

Airdrie’s best spell of the 2019/20 season was playing a 4-2-3-1 with the three being Callum Smith and Dale Carrick out wide and Kurtis Roberts in the middle. Three hard workers who track back, win the ball and drive forward. If you can get him in a system like that you’ll love him.

I’m still not entirely sure how good he is. He fitted into that Airdrie team really well, he loved to press high up the pitch and drive forward with the ball but he never seemed fit enough. Indeed, in his one solid run in the team I don’t think he ever completed a full 90 minutes. I wouldn’t expect lots of assists from him but he’ll help push the team up the park and he likes a shot from distance. Fans generally seem to really like him, our fans were constantly moaning about him not playing and then being released but he wouldn’t get near our current midfield. He’s an improvement on some of the jobbers that Clyde had this season though and I think he’ll be a good signing.

Danny has been backed with a decent budget

DG won't be back either board saying it's time to move on from that chapter.

New stadium in the works with a couple of sites in Glasgow in talks with GCC with a view to having something substantial in 3-5 years

Still paying the same as we did for broadwood but more opportunities in the way of income from matchdays

We need to raise 162k over the next year to cover the loss budgeted for (would be less if we had cup run, bigger crowds than expected etc)

Players that have been offered deals have until this weekend to sign on again so Danny can move onto other targets

There's more I've probably forgotten

Did Diamond talk and/or PJ's laptop work this time?

Targeting mobile "dynamic" players with pace rather than a target man.

No more UK streaming of matches

Traditional season book/ card plus digital option

Really supportive statement about DGW's wellbeing that should have been made 3 months ago

Main area in stand available for punters for drinks and pie beans / curry rice pre-match.  Hospitality upstairs.  Pauline behind the bar should be our next signing.

DL seems happier with recruitment todate versus last year

5 year deal at NDP reviewed After 3 years

We will look at Friday Sunday and reverse fixtures where we clash with Accies

Training at K Park on Thurs and Hammy Palace on Tuesday.

The shows were there behind the wee stand to welcome us 'travellers'

No realistic plans for academy set up

I can remember a Friday night game against St Mirren in 2003 (IIRC was Scotland v Holland play off weekend to avoid a clash), have we had one since?

Think we got beat by a Charlie Adam handball that night?
