Former Accies chairman Ronnie McDonald returns as chief executive and he outlined further changes at New Douglas Park after a “financially draining” 30 months took a toll on the cinch Championship side.

Just when you thought stability & good relations were the order of the day...

Is this articled not from about 3 weeks ago prior to the League season starting - Hamilton Accies react to 'financially draining' 30 months with club rebuild and public appeal | The Scotsman?

Nothing to see here.

My understanding from a distance is that McGowan - the chap we seem to be dealing with - is still around running the commercial side of things and also has some control over the stadium. You’d imagine all agreements with Hamilton would be written in a contract as well so I can’t see anything happening on that front tbh.

I believe that Colin McGowan is the stadium OWNER.  He said in May's meeting that Clyde renting NDP was beneficial to us, AND Hamilton.

We must be excellent, if slightly desperate tenants,  so why would Ronnie Mac want to cause any disruption?

I misread that at first glance as Colin McGlashan!!! :) :) :)

With the injuries we’ve got today, this would be a good point if we could get it.

I know we always go on about this, but is it really that disarming to the opposition to reveal some injury news? Duthie has now been out since the tackle on the opening day and we’ve not actually heard what’s wrong with him and when he’s likely to be back. And there’s the Thicot stuff, which we could really do with a bit of clarity about.

Would seriously love to know wtf is going on with Thicot’s work permit. Might as well be letting him go and freeing up a wage at this point

We signed a guy called David Bangala back in June and we only got clearance for him a few days ago. Made his debut yesterday. For clubs at our level and the foreign signings we might make, they have to go through the same procedures and wait times as anyone trying to enter the country for work purposes. It’s frustrating as hell but it’s the way this stuff works now after Brexit and there’s nothing the club can do. Just have to sit and wait.

Just hope this isn't yet another season blighted by injuries, seems to be the story of our entire time since we got back in League 1.  There's yesterday, only 4 games in, 3 likely first team picks unavailable.  Put together what looks a decent squad and none of them loans, so presumably there'd still be the possibility to bring one or two in for key positions if felt needed.   Our treatment table's going to need treatment for wear & tear at this rate.
