bothendsburning
Looks like it's deja vu all over again if these are the sources of our new players

There are plenty of past stories of individuals picking up the tab for select players in order to ever be able to afford them. in fact was it not a classic example of the John Brown <shudder> era that when he left, the "guaranteed" funding for a number of players suddenly got withdrawn, leaving us in a financial hole? So, assuming DGW was funded outside of the budget or that he was subsidised over and above his equal share of the budget, then you need to look at the supporting cast from last year to give you a realistic idea of what we can afford this year if the budget is the same. Also factor in that whatever we received for the DGW transfer, a chunk of that went back to Raith due to the ill conceived load deal that saw us pay 4 or 5 month part salary for 0 appearances. I believe there was no external funding for his wages last season

You got to think that should have been looked at as it was pretty obvious that with the season starting so early most clubs would be struggling.Would like to think we still have a chunk of the playing budget left. Goodwillie and Mitchell would surely have been two of the highest plus we have the transfer fee for both.

CM.
He left Hamilton for work commitments so would've been looking to go part-time Edited July 6, 2022 by CM.

Surely he’d have been a great addition
FREDDYFRY
They must have been aware, it’s been on several news feeds etc. But nothing would really surprise me about recruitment and our club, beginning to to look all to familiar isn’t it?

Replays
I’d have hoped we’d have looked at him but fully expected him to sign for an Airdrie or similar. Not great that he’s strengthened a rival signing for Edinburgh. Could we sign Callum Crane from Edinburgh then please? I’d imagine he would strengthen us in that area of the pitch.
BullyWeeLad
Was one of Raith Rovers best players season before last, fantastic signing for Edinburgh
Jack Phillips
Interesting that both Peterhead and Edinburgh have signed a player that’s played in the championship last season (Ryan Dow & Kieran McDonald) hopefully these players that Danny speaks of that are keeping their options open come in soon

Think his Peterhead debut was against us at Broadwood.
David W
Dow is also related in some way to McInally (son in law?).
SLClyde
If Kieran McDonald was dropping to part time due to work commitments, probably a fair assumption his work is in the east somewhere. Nae luck having McInally as your in law.
