Clyde FC; Season 2020-21

Recommended Posts

Interesting to look at the table.  We've had wins against 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th but lost to 9th, 6th and  murdered by 7th twice.  Really need to aim for top 5! Screenshot_20210331-151321_Chrome.thumb.jpg.0abcae58fa67b39a548687597be352fd.jpg

We are clearly in a fight to avoid being without a chair when the music stops as the bottom place merry go round continues. However, it is crazy to think that winning our games in hand would leave us chasing a play-off spot.

Right now I would take 3 points from the two catch-up games to put us 6 clear of Forfar.

I'd definitely still take eighth if you offered it me now. Obviously, with a fourth Scottish Cup triumph thrown in...

It will be very interesting to see the strategy on team selection on Saturday........I'd be looking into getting Nicoll cryogenically frozen until next season and Jamieson in as loanee from the start of the season.

We should be resting a good few on Saturday and giving the loans a game that haven’t featured much along with the likes of Bain and Lamont who haven’t started many.

Two home games midweek next week are vital.

Goodwillie working or injured for tonight?

Injured. Lennon said he’s hopeful of maybe playing on Saturday but I wouldn’t bother personally, especially with two games coming up next week, including one against Forfar.

I wish we had an U20s side to send out for a mullering by Ayr on Saturday, I really do.

On the bright side you'd imagine Cove will put out a full team at "Rangers" and they play Sunday night. Though I would take losing to Cove if we beat Forfar.

Supposedly we're going to rest quite a few key players and are prioritising the Clyde game which is sensible. Expecting a tough game against bully wee next week. Tuesday has put us back in the running for top spot. Hopefully we can run Falkirk close; somebody needs to give them a scare!

No! Prioritise the Dumbarton game, please!

Haha, as long as we score 1 against Dumbarton I'd fancy us winning. Watched them tonight and sadly they are struggling massively to even conjure up a shot on goal let alone a goal.

We got one against Dumbarton when we were abysmal, and weren't great against Forfar or Montrose, a combination of luck, goals at right time got us six points there. I've actually got the fear for the Airdrie game and the one at Cove. We haven't created much in the three games back chance wise. It'll be more to do with who shits the nest the least that wins this league as opposed to anything else.

I hope we can take 6 points in our next 2 games and set up a meaningful game with Falkirk at Balmoral. Cove are showing big signs of improvement each week since the restart. A bit more cutting edge in the final third and we'll be great shape. Have added depth and therefore options to our squad.

All the best Clyde against Ayr, won't be easy but neither will Falkirk or Cove's games 🙁
